Amazing show. Not much more to say. Dave's parents were there, and Steve told us about Mrs. Weiner's home-made crack pretzels. I got a thumbs up from Dave when steve mentioned his album at the beginning and I held it up. Steve also stared right at me for a good part of the FTLOG solo, and i melted ...

It's kind of hard not to say something when you are being directly attacked over and over by Mr. Canadian, the true know it all. You can't expect me to sit being passive as my character gets attacked. So what do you expect? There's no "im always right" syndrome going on here, my character has been ...

Look you guys are getting no where with this why don't you just end the stupidity. In all honesty does it really matter if YM is a good or not? It's opinion. Policman doesn't like his music and you Mr C does. Capice. %thd I agree. And you'll notice a typical "I am better than you" type of response ...

No but i'd hope people with the taste for Vai would half enough taste to see through an egotistical fretwanker named Yngwie Malmsteen who hasn't improved or changed at all his whole career. I refuse to go along with the notion that "omg he so fast and clean" when it is plain and simply not true. A ...

Redundant. :) Most players IMPROV over time. He's been the same player for 20 years. Hasn't changed. A good example of a great artists who changed himself up a bit over his career is Tony Macalpine. Went from a classical vibe to more of a fusion type deal later in his career. Same can be said for G...

Greg Howe is in my top two favorite guitar players. I have never seen him live, but I hope that will change one day. Howe has a REH video out from the early 90's. It's okay, nothing great though. I love his Extraction album, and Introspection is great too... Well their all great, but those are my f...

Re: If you think Yngwie is a ......

As far as I'm concerned, it's not a matter of Yngwie being sloppy or anythingl ike that..

Yngwie just needs to add a little diversity to his licks and tricks....

linier harmonic minor/diminished runs, and triadic arpeggios..... i dunno, i just find Yngwie predictable

Re: Fusion Came From Jazz

Fusion Came From Jazz. Some people don't seem to realize this? :) A jazz history course would change that. I think Fusion can come from a lot of things. Personally, when describing an artists subgenre, if they show obivous jazz influences merged with others, I will classify them under "Jazz Fusion"...

Daniel Liverani

I recently got a cd called Daily Trama by a guy named Daniel Liverani. I bought it expecting it to b ean all out shredfest, but it was overall more melodic in nature sharing some similarities to vai's fashion. Sadly, I found many of the phrasings to borrow TOO much from Vai. Overall, i found this cd...
