what kind of metronome is best to buy?

I need to buy a metronome to improve my speeds. Should I buy a classic metronome or a new digital one? Or does it even matter? Anyone know what kind of metronomne Steve Vai used to learn and does someone like Steve Vai need to still use metronome when he reaches such a level or is is just to get you...

quick whammy bar dip. like just tap it down real quick before doing it. I dunno how to describe but its a quick short dip. Very slight. You mentioned the word *before*. So is it holding the whammy bar down *before* striking the note and then releasing the whammy bar or is it a quck dip *while* play...

Hal Leonard Ultra Zone Tab book Jibboom Bottom Page 76

Im trying to learn how to play Steve Vai's Jibboom from the Hal Leonard Ultra Zone guitar tab book. Im wondering what the "check mark" symbol means in guitar notation. Its used twice in the first measure at the bottom of page 76. Im pretty sure it has something to do with the whammy bar since the bo...

Re: hehe it's so funny

i don't think that to eat like vai is useful on your guitar tech~ I know. This is pointless. The guy's a vegeterian and it works for him. Find you own path instead of following others. Its not useful to complain everytime some makes a post that you dont fully approve of either but people continue t...

I don't think this is the place to discuss wether "God" exists or not. I think there's been enough threads on this topic... Its hardly a discussion about whether god exists. I think I used the word "god" one time. Steve used it in one of his songs. Better watch how you name your songs in the future...

Re: A question about Vai's Diet

I've already read the original thread. Maybe you can put it into context for us. Steves primary reason for being a vegetarian is for the sake of the animals right to life, is that not what he says? I do not eat meat, fish, chicken or eggs or anything made with these things. I will eat some dairy li...

lol Mikey's statement is funny? Can someone explain how? Okay, I didnt know that Steve refrained from eating eggs. Steve is only 2 steps away from becoming a vegan. What's holding him back? He still drinks milk and eats cheese, right? Maybe its soy milk and soy cheese? Maybe he likes cheese and mil...

Re: A question about Vai's Diet

Before this conversation spins out-of-control, you may want to read what Steve Himself wrote on the subject. His words have been misconstrued and taken out of context. http://www.vai.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=570&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=vegetarian&start=60 -Brent I've already read the o...

you know, that eggs have to be fertilizated before an embryo can grow inside ? If they are not, an egg is just an egg! Also, you don´t have to do this because of respect for the animals, you can also do this because of the health of your body! For some people it´s just better to be vegetarian...

A question about Vai's Diet

I know that Vai has been a vegetarian for a very long time now. He has said in these forums that he initially became a vegetarian for health reasons and, i guess at a later time in his life, decided that he would never eat meat again out of respect for the inherent value of life, regardless of which...

Come ON

Steve Vai, not a Millionaire? Surely you jest? Steve Vai may not be a multi-millionaire but I would be willing to bet money that he has definitely made into the millione club. He's not a megastar or anything like Van Halen as you stated but he's famous enough to have made some good money. Steve Vai ...

Fernandes Sustainer Guitars

Hello all. I bought a Fernandes Revolver Pro about 6 years ago. The guitar itself still works but I think I may be having problems with the sustainer. If I leave the sustainer switch off the guitar works like a normal guitar. When I switch the sustainer switch to the on position I get a really nasty...
