Did Vai ever record a studio version of "Whispering A..."

Did Vai ever record a studio version of "Whispering A Prayer"? I would think the studio recorded versions of his music would always be superior in terms of the quality of the sound. Live versions of his songs are cool too. Variety is the spice of life. But I guess I do prefer the studio recordings o...

Re: Steve Vai blows up his amp...name of song please?

Very cool song. Thank You. I listened to this song again on YouTube. The main riff is very cool, overall a really cool, good song. I would have to give it a 9/10. I had to subtract one for the overuse of the angelic voices in the background. I think it was overused. The song would probably be better...

Steve Vai blows up his amp...name of song please?

I stumbled across this video on YouTube entitled "Steve Vai blows up his amp". I won't post any links because I don't know the policy about that on these forums but it should be easy to find. I don't think I have ever heard the song and am curious about the name. It sounds pretty good but I would li...

I don't get it yet...maybe it's an acquired taste...?

I've listened to each song on the album. So from my first impressions the song that I can say I like the most and has the most character, for me personally, is "John the Revelator". After listening to the entire album, thats the song I remember most. Although, I did hear it through RollingStone.com ...

Re: Bought the wrong size(gauge) strings - what should I do?

Thanks for all the replies. I just decided to replace the bottom 36 and 46 strings with a 32 and a 42. They are some really old GHS strings I still had from years ago. I noticed that at the bottom of the strings(or maybe it was intended to be the top years ago), there is about 2 inches of unwound ar...

Bought the wrong size(gauge) strings - what should I do?

I have a very old Fernandes Revolver Pro with built-in sustainer. I think they sell the same guitar now but its been rebranded as the Fernandes Revolver Pro 81. Maybe thats the first year it came out or something. Anyway...on with my problem. It had been about 3 years since I changed the strings so ...

Re: Questions about "Passion and Warfare" 7-string Guitar

Oh well, I guess I can look on the bright side of things since Im an optimistic person. I would have scrimped and saved and paid $2,000.00 for the UV77RE which is really too much money even at that price but I would have probably paid it. Now, I don't even have to "think" about buying this guitar. U...

Re: Questions about "Passion and Warfare" 7-string Guitar

Thanks for the info. Looks like this guitar is being made only for rich people. I was hoping it would be around the same price as a JEM, around $2,0000.00. Even at 2K it would be a luxurious purchase for me.

Re: dont like latest picture on guitar magazine

Lydian2000, Im sorry if I made you cry. Please let me reassure you that this is by no means a personal attack on Steve or any of his musical work. I simply think the picture is silly. On the other hand, I think the artwork of Passion and Warfare is very cool, along with Ultrazone album cover, just t...

dont like latest picture on guitar magazine

Anyone else not like this picture on Guitar Magazine cover? I wouldn't have authorized it if it was me. Too suggestive of Steve appearing to be losing his manhood.

I discovered Vai....

One day while I was skipping stones across a shallow creek. There was this one stone that stood out from amongst the rest. There was a small light radiating outward from underneath the rock. And it was gently shaking. I was fascinated with the rock so I moved to pick it up. And what do I see underne...

Its funny...

I bought my first guitar when I was 17 years old. I am 36 years old now and I have ever heard so much as a whisper or a peep that the guitar could never truly be in tune. I've bought several self-teaching guitar DVDs over the years and during the tuning phase they never mention that the guitar is an...

Has Vai always known this to be true.....?

Has Vai or anyone else for that matter always known that a guitar could never "really" be in tune or has he just recently been convinced that the guitar can never really be in tune? Im just curious because Steve has been a guitar player for over 20+ years now. And he has helped design guitars. If it...

Why no Psychedlic guitars in the Ibanez lineup?

I want to either purchase A)the guitar Steve holds on the cover of Passion and Warfare or B)the clear psychidelic guitar shown on the Visual Sound Theories DVD cover. Does anyone know if Ibanez has plans to produce any guitars in these styles? Dont they release a new Vai Signature guitar every year ...
