I have my own theory. in the beginning of tender surender steve use the dist channel of the legacy with the knob roll down. it produce the light crunch sound heard in the begining of the song. there are some few spot in the show where you can hear this sound. have you noticed the little point next t...

unfortunatly , there is nothing to do with single coil ' s hum.
that why the humbucking appears.
(even my sustainer single coil driver is humming)

I ve read a interisting idea to make the single free of hum .

the sustainer driver is very deep ( more than a standart humbucker) so I take off about 0,4mm / 0,8mm of wood in the neck pickup cavity and only under the driver. some words about the sustainer : thomas nordegg says : "It seems like each sustainer is sort of different." and with my own experience it...

as you can see I have many guitars and I plays all of them , not only the jems. I love all kind of music (jazz, flamenco, funk, classic....etc) and try to play all of them. vai is just one side of my love for the music. maybe i m wrong but in "for the love of god" on many dvd like first g3 , the live in sevilla etc... after the first theme when steve change the pick up selector to position 1 (neck) to 5 (bridge) with the left hand over the neck, I remember he turn up the tone (and volume) button.
