I'm struggling like mad to understand how I feel about it! It sounds like a mad schizophrenic has just made the most 'outrageously difficult to play' guitar album ever. There are styles of playing on the CD that I wouldn't usually choose to listen to but I am forced to because the songs change in a ...

I love the artwork including the shopping bill, along with the typically 'british' daft liner notes. The whole thing is quite obviously aimed straight at guitar nuts like us lot! I've had a quick listen through my crappy PC speakers but it's going in my car tomorrow, so I'll post my review after hea...

What was the point in doing that? What a complete pillock!!!

I'm actually really looking forward to reading everyones take on the CD.
Let's hope there's some slightly more intelligent reviews on this forum.

Hang on chaps! the guy is entitled to an opinion as we all are. Whether his opinion is from Tone Merchants, from clips or whatever, he is just saying what he thinks. He likes Malmsteen and he doesn't like Vai too much, it's up to him. Not everyone will be blown away by GG on his playing alone as a l...

I don't think that's strange at all! Guitar music is huge in japan, Paul Gilbert's pretty big there which is bugger for us as he's out there most of the time!

I love PG's vocal stuff it's usually funny and he can definitely sing!
I'm probably the opposite to some of you guys and don't really go for the 'scarified' side of his stuff. I prefer instrumental tracks like Burning Organ or vocal stuff like Down to Mexico.

Floyds are the better option. Kahler's can kill the sustain on certain guitars especially Les pauls. Kahlers have a smoother response and are perfect for light vibrato while using chords etc. They sound OK for rock whammy bar stuff but the feel is different to a Floyd as the mechanism is housed insi...

I can't get the clips to play and site loaded reeeeeally slowly but I bought it anyway. I really hope it's good as it I want it to be. The GPS stuff isn't my cup of tea at all but something tells me this CD might just be.

My idea for a Vai tattoo would be to have it painted on and not tattooed in. I know you asked for ideas and not advice but I'm gonna give you it anyway. Obviously you're free to ignore it if you want. If you're definitely going to do it make sure the tattoist can 'draw' and ask him to show you him d...

Check out this site, it has a complete section on changing pick ups.

I always use a dimarzio selector instead of the VX thing that is already in the guitar.

The reason TOTP has ended is because kids these days are more aware than we give them credit. I'd say they realise that what they are seeing every week isn't particularly good and they're fully aware that they can create more or less the same type of stuff on thier own PC at home. They know when the...

That was funny listening to those two getting worked up like that.

If only Steve had waited a while before settling the argument, TheSquareRootOfElvis was only just getting started and Keith was just about to blow

It was made by a guy in Brighton UK where I live by the name of Andy Demetriou. He did some work on my guitars back in the 80's and he had pics of it up on the wall. I remember talking to him about the guitar but I don't remember what he said about woods, pickups etc. http://www.edenwaith.com/ulirot...

I think he put his heart into it, if that's what you mean. If you're talking about theory - Rusty is a freakin' genius in that regard. He obviously puts his heart into it because he loves it! I don't hear anything of genius quality in that clip. He's very very fast and very good. He also has a pret...
