You could try the Fender Super Champ XD I have this amp myself and I found it very versatile... It is loud enough for small gigs but also small enough to crank it up big time for studio use... Oh no not another poll about who is the greatest of two guitar players... I like the poll option on this message board but c'mon... HOW THE HELL CAN PEOPLE COME UP WITH SUCH COMPARISONS?!?!? It is like: Which is better single coil or humbucker?: both of them have there own style and feeling and perf...

I got exactly the same problem myself... On stage I go wild and I play great but in the studio it is like I don't know where I'm going with my hands... the result is take after take an after 200 takes I finally feel satisfied... That's the life of a musician it is about 50% creativity but after that...

I'm sure mr Vai would be overexcited to be president...
