I played the guitar a few times at my buddy's shop. I ordered it from him today remotely and I don't have all of the details yet. He tells me its stock and in good working order which is all I need to know. When I pick it up I will have all of the particulars to research it further.

Actually the fingerboard is scalloped, not the frets. Truth be told, when you are playing a jumbo fret like a 6100 or 6105 you fingers really aren't touching the fingerboard anyway unless you are some Gorilla like hack of a player

They have a 30 day exchange policy. If you don't like, exchange it for something else. How do you try out a Duncan model for example without buying it?

I'm kinda interested in where Vai is using the Evo2 and the Breed. THe Evo's seem to be in all the primary guitars he uses. I also find it curious that Dimarzio is doing multiple signature modules for Petrucci, Vai and Satriani now. Those guys are all great but is there really no one else out there ...

Dimarzio's site has some bad information. For example, they have a clip of rock of ages as a demo for the Super3. Unfortunately that tune was recorded about 10 years before that pickup existed

Not really. You don't use a lot of gain from the pedal necessarily. Usually you max out the output/volume of the pedal and add gain to taste

Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus or Fulltone CHoral Flange. An old BOSS CE-2 kicks ass if you can find one

I know that the Green Meanie Charvel was used for just about all of it. I dont think he was using the Carvin X100B, I have one, and while it does the Flex-Able tone, it doesnt' do a very good Eat Em and Smile tone. The Peavey JSX does a pretty nice Eat Em and Smile tone, not as good though Doesn't ...

And yes, Steve is changing His pickups!
I change pickups regularly myself. I did not mean to suggest that Vai doesn't change them, only that they do not deteriorate over time as was suggested

studios have monitors in the control room so he can hear what he is playing just fine. Yes I know that, put the amount of wire and equipment used to connect a guitar player sitting in a control room to an amp sitting in another room must cause a very slight latency or descrepency in sound. There is...
