It would been more easy to write witch songs Satriani are not using legato runs in, because he is using them nearly in all songs. I think Satriani likes more the sound of legato runs then picking every note. He once said that it was a little hard for him to play Crushing Day live now because of some...

Yes what you see is a combination of sweeping and taping. Begin with a down sweep, then tap a note on the 1 string, then pull it off and do the up sweep. More advanced would be to add a slide with the note you tap down. I think these moves where very common in the 80's and 90's. Players like Tony Ma...

I agree, it is mutch easier to play legato runs on a "wizard-neck" guitar with low action and string hight. Satriani use JS guitars witch has smaller radius then the JEM neck. So the action has to be a little higher on the JS. But I have read that Satriani has his JS guitars adjusted so that he can ...

And dont forget the videos with Vinnie Moore. Eric Johnson also have a video but I have never seen his video. And I think Frank Gambale have a video or two on his speedpicking/sweeping. Also excellent theory course on modes in one of Frank Gambales videos. Also very good theory in some jazz videos. ...

If you play a lot the skin on your fingertips will become harder and these legato runs will sing out louder. Satriani was speaking about this in his live dvd I think. Listen to the legato master Satriani:) Before he plays live he would not warm his fingers in warm water because they then got soft. S...

Hi!

I got my DVD on monday 22 mars 2004 :)
I have seen most of both DVDs and enjoyed them both.

The only thing I missed was a long interview with
Steve Vai "The Lord Of The Strings" himself.

But excellent show and playing.
I'm looking forward to G3 comes to Norway 20 juni 2004:)

Bye bye
