Re: MI Hollywood Ticket Contest

Ahhh... that very good looking JEM with maple fingerboard again. Maybe we will see this model for sale one day? I am working for Santa Claus here in Norway these days. Very busy time of the year. Maybe I could borrow that sled... No, I don't dare ride it. Got into trouble last time. The Chely...

What is this Jem with maple fretboard?

On this Tours page there is a image of Mr. Vai holding a Jem with maple fretboard. Is it a Jem70v "special for Vai" guitar or is it a prototype, or something new? http://www.vai.com/tourdates/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Can't remember I have seen it before. I am a lover for maple...

Re: I'm Starting to Get Bored of Playing

Only if music is your living you have a serious problem. If you is only a hobby musican (like me) don't worry. There are alot of different ways to get inspired to continue, but only yourself can answer what you really want. Writing songs must be the ultimate goal of all the playing and practicing I ...

Re: Gibson.com has posted their Top-10 Wah-Wah Solos, naming

Satriani + wha-wha = voice of God I don't know any other who really get THAT amazing "human voice" like sound. Also his phrasing together with the wha-wha is sometimes very human speaking like. Vai is a good no. 2  Vai sometimes got this very "naughty"/"bad boy"/devil tone when using a wha-...

I don't know. But here is a list of 10 favorite guitar instrumentals: http://www.aolradioblog.com/2009/08/21/steve-vai-unveils-his-10-favorite-instrumentals/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If I remember right Steve has also said he likes the orchestral concert composition named "The ...

Re: Well... Let's hear some opinions on The Story Of Light c

My favourite tracks are - Racing The World (My no. 1, nice melody, tempo, solo and a happy song) - Velorum (My no. 2, nice melody, break, solo) - Weeping China Doll (nice melody. A bit slow in tempo maybe...) - No More Amsterdam (nice melody, singing and playing) Some of the other songs are also ok,...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Thanks for the new album, I am excited to hear the new songs. Oh... the new EVO clone looks so alike that you have to label it something different. Maybe "Dolly"? (the clone sheep) Say hello to Satriani from us Vai/Satriani fans. I am also excited for his new album the day ...

Re: New IBANEZ JEM 70V Premium

LACS = Los Angeles Custom Shop I believe? I would maybe like to buy a maple neck for my Jem70v one day. Would be nice if Ibanez sold such a neck, but I will look on the Internet later one day if I want one. I ordered a Jem70v but it will not be avaiable before late April it looks like. Thats here in...

Re: what are steves favorite Modes

I think Steve has said Lydian is one of his favourite. Listen to “K’m-Pee-Du-Wee” from latest record and read: http://www.vai.com/minisites/realillusions/04kmpeeduwee.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Steve: "This song made it to the record because for me it had that little special...

Re: HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAANNNNDDDDDDDYYYY

If, or when, Steve one day make a new DVD/Blu-ray it would be nice for us guitar freaks if Steve did show us all his guitars and tell a bit about the most used or special ones. I can't remember I have seen such a "guitar documentary" before, only some pictures of some of his guitars. How many does h...

Re: New IBANEZ JEM 70V Premium

A quick and raw Photoshop edit gave me this result: http://www.vestlending.com/div-bilder/Jem70V-maple-fretboard.jpg Well... maple neck or not to maple neck... I must admit the Jem70V looks better with dark rosewood fretboard. Maybe with a bit darker maple and the "tree of life" in sea foam green as...

Re: Jem77FP2 Questions!

I don't know, but there are today maybe easier to get an answer at the Jemsite forum: http://www.jemsite.com/forums/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I owned both a Jem7v and a Jem77fp (the original fp). Great guitars both. Drop C tuning? Sounds very low for a floating tremelo...

Re: New IBANEZ JEM 70V Premium

I got an answer from a seller today. Can't trust the answers 100% but what I got was: 1. The Jem70V should be listed in 1-2 weeks. 2. The price will be around 1100 EURO (€) By "listed in 1-2 weeks" I don't know if that means just listed at the web-shop or in stock. Time will tell. The price is close...
