Ibanez Jem - 30 years anniversary 2017
What to expect, what to hope for? Some say Jem 777 reissue. I am not sure, Vai always looks for something new. So maybe a Jem 777 upgraded with some new features? I would love a 2017 Jem 777 LNG, but the price has a limit. So time will tell. I got all Guitar Player magazines from 1980-1990 so will s...

Re: Windows to the Soul
NFBOfficial, on youtube.com there is one video of the song, live. Also one of my favourite. Sure brings back some memories from that time in my life every time I hear it. Some "top 10" songs on that album for me: - "OOOO" - "Windows To The Soul" - "Lucky Charms" Alot of other great song on that albu...

Old fan letters - pre Internet
I have been a Steve Vai fan since the David Lee Roth days. And a user here at the forum for some years. I remember I read somewhere something about Steve Vai sending out "fan letters" in the pre Internet days? I don't remember what they where called/named, so not sure what I could search for on Goog...

Re: Modern Primitive/PAW25 Discussion!
I am maybe a bit more into "easy" songs these days with strong melody. But interesting to listen to all new songs, and learn the history behind them all. So my favorite songs are: "Mighty Messengers", "The Lost Chord" and "Upanishads" from the album "Modern Primitive". And on "Passion And Warfare" t...

Re: Somebody's got a birthday coming up...
I am just going to bed and did check the time on my computer and there I saw 00:05 6 june... After a few seconds a "pling" in my head told me AHHH 6 june, it is Mr. Vai birthday! So happy birthday Steve and thank's for the music again! Have a nice day and eat some cake, or ice cream, or both. Nice t...

Re: 2016 Tour
Does anyone know if "The Riddle" is played on this tour?
Never seen a Vai live performance of this one of my favourites songs.
Thanks people and Mr. Vai himself
Oh YES! Just found out they do play "The Riddle". Thanks to all in the band!

Vinnie Moore - Aerial Visions (new album oct. 2015)
It's been a long time since rock'n roll. It's also been a long time since a new good instrumental rock album. A few days ago I noticed Vinnie Moore released a new solo album in oct. 2015. I don't read guitar magazines these days, so I believe I first saw it at Youtube.com The album is called "Aerial...

Re: 2016 Tour
The P&W is of course an excellent album, but I am not a very big fan of these anniversary tours, whoever the artist is. A re-mastered album is very welcome, but drop the tour if you ask me. I would more welcome to hear the news that Steve Vai is in studio and working on new songs  Just Stev...

Re: Steve's YouTube Channel
Computers, can't live with them, can't live without them. No problems for me. I am located in Norway and using Internet Explorer 11 (on Windows 7). Try again, another Internet browser (Firefox, Chrome etc), ask a friend etc. Guess it is just some temporary error. With Chrome or Firefox I believe you...

Re: Fixed bridge guitars. Similar to pre 2000 JEM feel?
You could install a trem. locker. Something like this: http://rpguitars.co.uk/Tremolo_Stabilizer_Strat.jpg Or just find a cheap guitar with fixed bridge and pickups and a neck as you like. Or something a bit different (12" radius, 24.75" scale, Les Paul) this Epiphone Les Paul: http://www.epiphone.c...

Re: Stillness in Motion - Vai Live in L.A
Just seen the complete dvd so a short review comes now. I been a Vai fan since the late 80's, the David Lee Roth years. So I guess I have seen most of Steve's official solo artist videos. Also seen Mr. Vai a few times live here in Norway, in Oslo. But not this tour. The live show setlist was good, I...

Re: New album?
I read in the Facebook chat that there will be no blu-ray so after waiting some time I can now order the dvd. Always good to know before ordering. Read the Facebook chat yourself if you want the excact answer. It was something about Sony had for now no plans about a blu-ray edition. The 3+ hours bon...

Re: Steve talks Passion & Warefare 25th anniversary and Zapp
I just read Guitar Player may 1990 issue. Vai on the cover and he talks about the album, songs etc. Interesting to read again 25 years after I first bought the magazine. Also now reading Guitar Player may 1988. That was when David Lee Roth's "Skyscraper" was released. Also interesting to read. Steve...

Re: New album?
3D has flopped before also. In the 80's or something. It just comes back again now and then. I don't like 3D for movies, but maybe for PC gamers? Well sometimes when I watch 3D I get a bit "sea sick". My brain don't like the fake 3D stuff. I like Blu-ray or "full HD" (1920x1080 resolution). The brai...

Re: Fingerboard Visualizer - free Android app
(Updated January 10, 2015. Windows XP also supported now.) Good news for people with a Windows OS computer. I have just made a Windows program of this app now. Windows XP or newer OS is ok. The features is just the same as in the Android app so watch the Youtube.com video about the Android app if yo...
