The ones I got the strongest Title/Feeling correlation from: Tender Surrender Taurus Bulba Bad Horsie Touching Tongues Maple Leafs (God I love this song.) Whispering a Prayer Blood and Glory I actually wrote a little vignette for each one. Not like I'd ever show them to anyone, though. I'm very, ver...

Personally, I think Frusciante's work on "By the Way" touches on true genius. He plays with impeccable timing and taste on EVERY SINGLE TRACK. Talk about progress as a guitar player. Check out that delay-filled sonic-landscape solo on "Don't Forget Me"--chills. Not that his old stuff is bad, but thi...

None whatsoever. I'm just pointing out that one can actually glean plenty of information about this technique by trying it for oneself. Unless you don't have a guitar, in which case I guess discussion would be the best route. I'm not snapping at anyone, never fear. Let me also suggest that if you we...

Do we have to analyze every single thing they do? Just try it for yourself and see what happens. If it gives you the feeling, you'll have learned why they do it. If not, just accept the physicality of guitar playing.

Something I like to do when I play "Die to Live" is, as I'm doing the A-string slides at the very end, shrug the strap off my shoulder so it's just around my neck. Then, as I hit the A-B-A-E sequence at the very end, I lift the guitar up above my head, strings parallel to the ceiling, notes still ri...

I'm listening to ITLIS right now, for the first time. I kinda like it! It's very very stripped down, a no-frills kind of record. Obviously this will polarize the Joe fans into two camps. And as for all the flippant references to ZZ Top, I say unto you: please stop thinking ZZ Top is a brainless boog...

May I suggest "Monsters & Robots" as your first purchase? Then get "Population Override". Then maybe get "Colma" or "Island of Lost Minds".

"Into the Pain" video question

Does anyone know who they got to be all wrapped up in gauze for the video? I'm guessing either Devin or Steve...they both seem like they'd be up for something like that. And who's the nun? And who's the lady acting out the screams in the very beginning? And (last question, promise), does anyone know...

That's totally cool. I would love to be able to say I had seen Eddie live. Like I said, no disrespect. Just don't expect it to be what it once was.

Well, I always detested Sammy Hagar's voice, so I wasn't even that keen on him the first time he was in the band. The only thing that would get me vaguely excited would be if DLR wanted to get back in the band, and even then it wouldn't be anywhere near the same. I mean no disrespect to the musician...

I named my Strat Mary-Jane because I love that name, and she's all the mary-jane I'll ever need.

I had a Telecaster I called Suzie but I sold it and now I really regret it. She was a rockin' machine and I traded her for this piece of crap Epiphone SG. D'OH!!

Ah, I should've looked closer. Now I see.

He DOES have really big hands, though. Have you ever seen his "Rock In Rio" video? Apparently the guy is like 6'6" or something.

Checking in... I still don't like "The Riddle". Or "Greasy Kid's Stuff". Or "Oooo". Or "Bledsoe Bluvd". Or...

I still weep with joy over everything else, though. So it kinda balances out.
