The only real choice: The Riddle :D best piece of music in terms of composition (and partly playing) that Steve has written so far.

I'm thinking about putting the tried and tested Air Norton/Tone Zone combi in my S470, but not sure about the Tone Zone....could be very mid-heavy. Steve's Special maybe better? Not sure about EVOs though....try it and see.

The thing with Vai is that he can play so many different things in so many styles so well, which could make him unapproachable; the only other people I can think of who do that as well/with as much success as Steve are Guthrie Govan and Carl Verheyen.

Anyone know/can make an estimated guess at what time it'll be finishing Monday night? I need to get my train ticket sorted, but not sure what time to book the return for. Cheers!

Glad to see there'll be so many of us there. Any chance of a map showing how to get to Yates' from the train station, and Yates' to the Apollo? Only ever been to Manchester once for a gig, and that was at the Academy

Thanx,

Dave

Hey Leviathan, and welcome. Nice to see another Yorkshireman here!! As to your question, I feel the answer to be subjective, as it depends on opinion. Some might argue that, technically, there are players that are equal to or above SSV, and in terms of writing could apply the same arguement. Myself,...

Buy it. It's a great, versatile amp, and sounds awesome wiht the 7V. It also sounds good with mahaogany body guitars such as my Ibanez S470, although a bit middly for some people's tastes. I have used my Legacy in every setting from rock and metal to straight jazz and swing. Plus, for the price, it'...

I put mine right at the beginning of my FX chain (not in the loop) as you get more clarity this way. Put the volume pedal after the Whammy and keep the DDL in the FX loop.

Thanx for all the replies guys. The Riddle has been sidelined for now, mainly because of time considerations, so I'm either doing Blue Powder, GSK or Erotic Nightmares, whichever I can get the bass part for. For some reason, only a coupla songs in the P&W book have bass parts, so if any of you have ...

Song choice

As part of my AS-Level Music Technology course I have to do a multitracked recording, and since I also do Music, I'm going to submit the recording for my Music performance as well. Thing is, I can't decide between Erotic Nightmares, The Riddle and Greasy Kid's Stuff. I can play them all, and have th...
