I've seen his stuff on G9. I'll check him out since I'm always interested in neo-classical stuff.

Yes, ROF rules! I don't have the DVD but I have all their albums including the Mark Boals one that was the blueprint for the band and the recent live one (same show the DVD was recorded). I love all the albums but the one with George Bellas on guitar was slightly lacking in my opinion, he just did n...

I've got a Line 6 Flextone and before that I had the Line 6 Spider. I love their products, solid build and I can nail the tone I want.

As far as tube amps go I really dig VHT and Rhino.

Weird that you think Steve is fast because I never really thought of him in that way. Sure he plays fast but that's not what he's about. There are a million shredders out there that can play amazingly fast but non of them can bring a tear to your eye.

The shape of the guitar does affect the tone because the shape directly ties into the amount of wood the body consists of. Think of it this way, try a Gibson Flying V then try a Gibson Explorer. Without a doubt the Explorer will sound more ballsy because there's more mass to it so there's more body ...

I think it comes from the fact that Steve makes every moment of the songs interesting. Like when he plays a run and throws in a pick slide in the middle of a really blinding part.

It's like a cool bit then a wow right in the middle.

If I may chime in I'm using the Fretboard Logic books to learn more theory and I've already gotten a good dose of theory under my belt. I recommend it because it's pretty well explained and builds on concepts that you already know.

I was at the Downtown show in Long Island last night. It was simply amazing! When the guys took the stage I was standing right in front of Tony and I screamed "Ring Of Fire" and he replied with a laugh "Not tonight dude." The show was some ball buster of a headbanger, they opened with Nightmare Cine...
