Hey EVO 555! I have a seven string myself and I have no trouble with it. It's truly a mean instrument with low crunching sounds. It has more versatility than a 6-string... you can use it for heavy metal or jazz with the low B-string. My 7-string is a 2004 Prestige Ibanez RG1527CB and it now includes...

Ooops! Well, there you have it... just look at my last post I just don't know much about midi or Cubase so... can't help you there, sorry. I did own the GR-20 and it was awesome indeed. I no longer have it unfortun...

yo yo It's sorted. No one here has got a ROland Synth? Hmmm Anyway, the reason for bad timing was the Auto Q (automatic quantanization) function turned on. I switched it off and BINGO! I got rid of unwanted notes by adjusting the pick-up's sensivity (I turned it down a little bit) and playing more ...

I have the same experience, Logic. I go to Guitar Center just to test some guitars and break out some random jibberish/riffs. I don't play my best since the guitars and amps are different than what I have and I'm in a different environment (more people = I'm more nervous). And what's funny is that I...

I'm not trying to be annoying or mean but... Resha's got the fretless neck tuning right (E2) but the 12 string is left as F#M as what laficojr said... sorry. I got this off an interview of Steve Vai through a link off the updates page a year ago. http://www.guitar.com/cda/ColumnCorner/article...

Doh! I need to start buying some of DT's albums! I've been a fan of them since less than a year ago and I still have no albums by them... I do have their Budokan, Images and Words/5 Years Of A Livetime DVDs however, so I do know almost half of their songs. It's nice to hear about their upcoming albu...

I just saw Steve Vai in Phoenix on Tuesday..... He performed Whispering A Prayer and it moved me more than when I heard it before. I've seen him at the G3 and watched the Astoria DVD and for some reason, the previous performances do not compare to Tuesday's show. Maybe it's because I've grown to app...

Yep, shorten that guitar strap a little.... or a lot. Also, study John Petrucci when he plays live. You can check out the Dream Theater DVDs to find out. You would notice that he has his guitars strapped really high... covering the belly. If you play over your crauch or below, you will have a lot of...

I just found the box instructions online, so nevermind. I'm just having trouble figuring out the rectangular diagrams with the 6 terminals on them and what these mean :? The diagrams doesn't even show any relations with my RG selector switch construction. My switch has 8 terminals, and the Dimarzio ...

Well here's the thing... I had someone wire them previously and it wasn't the right setup. So I rewired them and actually got closer to what I wanted... but positions 2 and 4 don't work. I would read the Dimarzio instructions.... If I had them! The guy who worked on the pickups must have discarded t...

Thanks but I already looked at that diagram. The switch setup is different on the diagram since it relates to a stratocaster. The RG switch that I have is much simpler in design/construction than the one in the diagram. Dimarzio needs to put up diagrams for Ibanez setups on their website. Thanks any...

Pickup/Wiring Trouble

Not so long ago I got a Dimarzio Air Norton7 and a Dimarzio Blaze Custom for my Ibanez RG1527. I had them wired about the same way as the diagram on the Ibanez site shows. But instead of having that 5-way selector configuration 1,2,3,4,5 (Neck/Neck in parallel/Neck and Bridge/Neck and Bridge with sp...

u2 said "how much does it cost in yr country?" The Progressions and Improvisations book costs about $27.95 here in the U.S. It is pricey but certainly worth the value IMO. The Scales and Modes book and Chords and Voicings book both costed about $21-$23 each. Jamie FT said "anyone know where I can ge...

You guys will like the GR-20. It's a fabulous piece of machinery 8) Don't be confused about my comments on how the GR-33 is far superior... of course you already have decided. The GR-20 is quite easy to use. Like I said, there's not much tweaking to worry about... just straight forward navigation. Y...

Hey Xavier. I have the book form of Progressions and Improvisations along with the Chords and Voicings book and the Scales and Modes book of the Guitar Grimoire series. I must say that the book is loaded with information and I will never get bored of it! I would get the book since it's obviously por...
