Kylie Minogue's continued popularity astounds me. Ian Brown is right – she does make music for 'little kids'. I really liked her when I was about 5 years old, in the late 80's. I think that was when she made all of her 'best' music, (I maintain that I should be so lucky is a good song, but maybe tha...

That's really good! It's very difficult to draw an accurate facial likeness of someone but you've managed to do that! The eyes are particularly good, I think.

Re: ZZ Top!!!

If only the corporate cock-suckers in the music industry would really pay attention to artists like these and Vai, Satch etc. I think nowadays, more than ever, we need good musicians as we have suffered from a great lack of them in the mainstream setting. I'm not saying I want my kind of music to b...

I like the fact that you always start these really random threads! It was you who started the "Salamanders in the..." thread wasn't it?

I reckon his favourite vegetable is probably an artichoke. Or something.

Typical of a scientist to hijack a conversation about philosophy! That's really interesting, saraht-so you think, philosophy and science are two different things? Don't worry, most people do-I did! Would it surprise you to learn that science (which is a process , not a 'thing', by the way) is...

What I find interesting (from a philosophical point of view!) is how quickly this thread has moved from talking about philosophy to talking about science! I guess that's because no-one really had anything worthwhile to say about philosophy and music... actually I blame you, Big Bad Bill! Typical of ...

That’d be an interesting thing to study – the philosophy of music. I studied philosophy in my undergraduate degree but there wasn’t anything like that, unfortunately! I do remember reading this really interesting book called ‘Madness and Modernism’ where the author links modern and ‘post-modern’ cul...

But it wasn't £40 - Mine was £26.97 or something like that. Which I didn't think was too bad. I like your name, by the way!

OK maybe I don't wish I'd bought the CD from Amazon. I think it was just the tracking number they told me was wrong because the CD finally arrived today... with an aftershow pass - woo! FedEx, all is forgiven!

Well this is interesting - I was wondering why I my CD hadn't arrived so I clicked on the tracking thing on the e-mail I got. It seems the CD has arrived... to the wrong address. Apparently someone in Brighton signed for it today! Not sure what to do now because the money has already been taken out ...

All I can say is this: http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/ban-llama.gif Sorry this is off topic still, but I actually thought that was really funny, slash89! (Maybe that makes me immature in some people's eyes, but never mind) Just wanted to say that because no-one else seemed to appreciate it!
