Even after seeing Mustaine BUTCHER the Cemetery Gates solo, I gotta go with Mustaine. Thanks for cracking me up. I totally forgot the solo, it's one of the worst I've ever heard. All the other guys do a pretty sweet work on the song, but once Dave has finished his solo, the audience looks qui...

In response to 'burnt outs' post, as much as I love rock, the most earliest rock bands weren't musically that intelligent, since many of them used old traditional blues riffs and ideas of other people. But still, it has a distinctive sound compared to pure blues, which too has a distinctive sound. I...

I wonder what opinion "fiddlemord" have... I respect both guitarists and both of them are very influential and important in the history of heavy metal. Both of them are very skilled and both have written many wonderful solos during their career. But both have also written many solos during t...

Metallica should have called it quits after cliff burton died. As for Lars, he's a dick, but I always thought he was an ok drummer, however I know nothing about drums, and a friend of mine who is a drummer and a metallica fan tells me that lars isn't that great. If they had quit back then, they wou...

Dave. Better playing all around, and for sure he writes better riffs. I may be mistaken, but doesn't James write most of the riffs for Metallica? Yes, James is an important factor in Metallica, just as all the other members. Some songs Kirk is credited for are for example Enter Sandman, Welcome Hom...

Big Bad Bill wrote:Maybe if Hendrix was still alive, he'd be in the same situation..............?[/color]
This is offtopic, but considering how tripped up Hendrix was in his days, most possible is that he'd now be either a 'has-been' or dead. Dunno, but man and chemical compounds don't mix.

I wonder how Steve feels these days about playing to those HUGE crowds. I mean, with DLR and Whitesnake, the crowds were big!!! It must have been so exciting to play a great solo like that in front of that sea of people, who didn't come to watch Steve mainly, but the whole band. Steve had much to pr...

Lars is not the problem with Metallica. Metallica is doing just fine. The problem is that people think they are entitled to free music downloads and whatever they want. If that is the case, then there is no point in even trying to put out good material or do anything for anyone anyway because there...

I support this idea 110%. Hell, Joe and Steve are like brothers when they play together. A duo album with these guys would be the shit!!! It could include new songs, covers and the two playing eachothers songs together. Dammit, that sounds like a musical wet dream...

Are players like Jimi or Dime overrated? Hell no! Both did something none of us have done and never will, that's enough to make them the legends they are hailed as. Just look at their influence and their accomplishments. And I consider Dime an absolute brilliant metal virtuoso genius. Btw, the album...

I guess you're talking about the Napster-controversy. How would you fell if your un-finished song was distributed on internet and played on several radio stations? I even believe that if Lars wouldn't have sued Napster, the I Disappear-single would have maybe even sold better, as people would have b...

Nooo!!! The discussion turned into a big bashing-fest like all Metallica-discussions do... I'm leaving you all with your own opinions about this magnificent band, which is the reason why we all have many of our modern day metal bands formed. But one thing troubles my mind... Somebody said the fans o...

The guy definetly has some ear for very good riffs and exotic solos. One of my favorites in the world of metal, Morbid Angel overrall is one of my favorite death metal bands of all time.
