Abhish, the way I write riffs in odd time signatures is to break the Time down. EG, Pink Floyd's Money. The 7/8 is broke down into a bar of 3/8 and a bar of 4/8. Added together they make 7/8. it depends how you mean by shredder. my favourite in therms of sound is satch, but his speed had meaning and isn't for speed's sake. i dont mind saying i hate people going on shredfests just because they can (mr cooley, anyone?) i mean i appreciate the speed, but i dont enjoy it if it has no context...

the pickups only get sounds below the left hand, unless he was hitting a different string or pulling off to get the right hand note to sound. either that or he put pickups on the headstock of the guitar. i've always wanted to try that but dont have enough money.
