All the old guitar players, I won't mention specific ones, but in general...I think my friend put it the best. "They "techniqe'd" wrong perfectly, which gave them an invented sound, which was carried and morphed many times through many bands. But this incorrectness is still the basis, and anyone who...

Hey sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, been kinda busy. I'm about to fire up my Pod, I'll let you know if I find something that sounds like what you need.

Which kind of pod? I have a Pod XT, and I don't think the patches are configured the same way.

about the "life's too short"... what's better, playing on bad equipment now or save for years? .... :!: That is the heart of the dilemma! What is better, is to not continuously spend money on bad equipment. I came to a realization that if I hadn't made my last 3-4 purchases of "gear", I could have ...

It's actually quite interesting just to see the mix of raw, blatant, bashing mixed with fans of the music who defend it so adamantly. I must agree though with some of the comments that say it sounds out of tune in parts, though I am of the mindset that guitar + orchestra = 8) , a few of the passages...

Paying for a brand name.

Something just occurred to me. A lot of people will rant about how expensive guitars like JEMs and other signature models are marked up in price in relation to their actual production cost. At the same time, others will rant about how the quality is worth the extra money, while still others insist y...

Even if you're mad at what he did and his general conduct, let's acknowledge that he's trying to make amends. Take it at surface value at least. Don't encourage a behavior you don't approve of, but don't be so openly hostile either. There are plenty of ways to express your dislike for a situation. T...

I was just browsing the forums when I came across some of the threads dealing with this issue. I didn't particularly care to read through all of them..but I do realize that we all find ourselves in situations we regret. One thing leads to another, and another, and before we know it, we're swamped wi...

I do like it, and it's cool to see people still doing it. I just don't see how the style can "evolve" anymore than it has already without becoming just fret buzz and string noise in a semi-rhythmic sequence lol.

People nowadays that try to imitate the tasteful sloppy style of famous blues players end up sounding just like that, imitations of tastefully sloppy famous blues players. It's definitely a style, but not one that is going to be done better than it already has. Unless you define better as being even...

Yeah, I do like the clean channel. And I use it for some things from time to time(it's better than my other amp...) I have a really nice port city music 2x12 cabinet...I originally had a Vox Valvetronic 100 Watt head to use with it but I sold it because the sound was too mellow through the cab I had...

Well, I need something with at least two channels, good clean channel with -lots- of clean headroom. Before, I was going to go for a mesa rectifier for all the different distortions I could get from it, but now I have plenty of pedals I can use to get just about any style of distortion, so I really ...

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.

I bought this amp because I found it used for around 400 bucks at a store. It was all tube, and had a full, rich sound compared to the amps I had, and was American made(one of the older ones I assume). However, It's still not a "great" amp. I'm not really un-happy with the sound I can get from it, t...
