The story of his audition with Frank. Goes something like this. Was told to learn like 30 Zappa Songs, gets there and is asked to play everything but the 30 tunes, then is played a riff by Frank and told to repeat it. Then repeat it in various timings, styles and added notes which he did until it go...

Maybe some Zappa like One Size Fits All or Roxy & Elsewhere. Doubt it would help but might be worth it just for the look on her face. That is some great music though. Just something for thought, revenge can be a wasted energy. It might not even affect the one that it's intended for.

Like it's been said before through the thread, this is personal preference. I've been using DR High Beams 9-42 on all my guitars for about 6 or 7 years now. Seem to hold up for a few gigs before they start to get that dullness to them.

Staggy, sounds like you've had some fun and great experiences along the way. I've always felt nature gives you no choice but to grow old but you don't have to grow up. I'm 50 and when I grow up I'm still gonna play guitar!!! :peace

As a guitar player too I always felt comfortable with a Fender Jazz Bass for recording and getting ideas together. The neck has a nice taper to it, not too wide or thick. might not get the active pickups but still a good solid sound and feel. A Mexican made wont break the bank and still give you a g...

Congrats on the new strat. I picked up one before they upgraded to the noisless pickups. The cool thing about it is that little button by the volume & tone control. When you have the 5 way switch in the neck position or the neck/middle pickup position push the button in and it turns on the bridge pi...

I just picked up a Hot Rod Deluxe a couple months ago. I would say its not really an amp for metal but it is pretty versital. The clean channel is that fender clean sound. It has a nice overdrive and when you hit the drive button it gets pretty crunchy. At 40 watts its plenty loud. It has a full sou...

We definitely lost one of the Masters this day. Can't even imagine what he'd be doing today. I'm just glad I had the opportunity to see 6 of his shows and experience some great music. The one thing that I always respected about Frank is he never sold out, ALWAYS stayed true to himself and his work. ...
