Hi, Is there any good reason why non-US residents are not entered into the contest? Ive ordered early hoping to be involved and now I feel really cheated. Mikey- Is there no way that this could be changed? Maybe the Vai store should consider getting an international distributer who wont treat non-US...

Mesa question-all advice greatfully received!

Hi, I have a mark 2 Mesa Rectifier solo 50 and, whist I love the rhythm sound, the lead sound im getting from both my Jackson and my Ibanez is a little harsh. Ive tried other guitars with the amp (single coil P/Us) and they sound great. Im wondering if the DiMarzio P/U's (Tone zone and Evolution) ar...

Hi, I think its extremely disrespectful to boo anyone. I certainly wont be doing so in Manchester on thursday night. After reading his journal entries, the guy doesnt seem to confident about being the third G and what he is performing certainly isnt what people would be expecting. Perhaps he isnt th...

Hey Petie, It's a bit disappointing to pay so much for a ticket then have to squash out most of the definition and clarity with earplugs. You can buy 'musicians' earplugs which are designed to drop the volume. I have some which are pretty cool. All the definition is there (its not muddy), just reduc...

Hi, The last Vai gig i went to (Alive..) UK tour 2001, my ears rung for about 24 hours afterwards and I stood (like a dick!) with my fingers in my ears to make it bearable. Im not a wuss, ive been to many loud concerts from Metallica, DT, Satriani, Foo fighters etc. But that gig at the Apollo was ju...

Hi, I still prefer the first G3 DVD. None of the jam songs on the live in Denver even come close to those on the first DVD :? Anyway- Joe's voice is pretty bad on the Denver DVD, and Ive seen him 3 times live. He's usually so much better and I generally quite like his voice. However, on 'Denver' it ...

Hi, I have aquired a Jackson and I know nothing of its history- besides it being the best part of 10 yrs old. Ive only got small hands and the neck is perfect for small hands, it sounds pretty good when I put a tone zone in the bridge but im going to get a PAF pro, (heading for the DLR era tone and ...

Hi,

Most computer shops who sell writable media will stock boxes. I know my local shop does.

Hi, They will arrive. The latest policy with venues/promoters in the UK is to send out tickets about a month before the event. This is getting more popular and i think its an effort to stop the tickets ending up on ebay or getting scalped outside. Its the same with all the festival tickets this year...

Hi,

Rivers Cuomo from Weezer is apparently able to do all the sweep picking/string skipping crazy stuff but obviously he doesnt do it in his songs. I read that he used to play loads when he was growing up and lots of journalists have been amazed when they see him fool around.

Hi,

I wouldnt wipe my butt with kerrang anyway.

And if you include the Whitesnake and DLR albums Vai has surpassed 10 million sales (i think).

The greatest guitarist that ever walked the planet and an incredible composer to boot. 8)

Hi, Im a fan of most of the above mentioned bands but im a huge fan of Queen. IMO the greatest rock group to come out of the UK, if not the world. Best album- Live at Wembley 1986 or Live Killers.
