Damn.... Steve Stevens. How could I have forgotten. Steve Steven's Atomic Playboys (1989) and his solo Flamenco CD (1999 or 2000) are amazing! Speaking of Kiss guitarists, I've been listening to the Vinnie Vincent Invasion (w/ Marc Slaughter and Dana Strum in the band) a lot this Spring. Nuno is gr...

I live in Ireland. I'm probably the only 16 year old for about a hundred miles that is interested in what I'm interested in. I'm not quick to trash guitarists. I gave Hammet all the chance in the world and he did nothing for me. What I mean't by adding in my age is that here in Irland if you into h...

Maybe that'll convince Kirk to make a solo album. Get out of E minor for a change.

Well I don't think he ever did anything to excite me. I never liked Metallica (the E minor band) and have not been influenced by Hammet at all. In fact I knew alot about Vai and Satch before I could tell Heitfield and Hammet apart. And when I could I didn't care. I could slam his playing for hours ...

Yeah but I would think the longest I've listened to a song is Satriani's Always With Me, Always With You.
Yeah, same one. Nice to see a dude from GW around here.

Re: what the hell is peaples problem with hammet?????

I like Metallica up until the black album - after that I think other things got in the way of their ability to make decent music. Kirk Hammet has written some amazing solos, Fade to Black and Sanitarium spring immediately to mind. However, I think he has also contributed a lot of very boring solos ...

I don't think he's the best, but I do also think he is good. He is one of my all-time favorite players, and I've proabably heard just as much if not slightly more great guitarists than alot of people I've ever even talked to (inlcuding on message boards). I've always been drawn to Kirk, but I don't ...

I usually listen to a song until it's drilled into my brain. Case in point- Stand in Line by Impelliterri, Dreams by Van Halen, Liberty by this guy named Steve Vai (dunno if you've heard of him), Crushing day by Satch, etc.

IMO hendrix is overrated. He was good back when, and he made an impact, and he revolutionized modern guitar, etc., and I respect him for that, but he's not the best, and hasn't been since the days of Johnny Winter (even hendrix said so). In my opinion, he's not the greatest player in terms of techn...

no one (and this includes steve, joe, eddie...) can touch hendrix's rhythms. good post, bro. most ppl always look at the lead playing and forget about the rest. good call snake my man  As for Hendrix being overated..thats a stupid comment....I mean lets go forward 20-30 years will people say ...
