I was talking to a guy in a local guitar shop and he said he can order me in a Laney GH50L for about £350, so I might actually go for that instead. I've been watching videos of it on youtube and it sounds great.

That's cool, although my mate recently recommended I get a Peavey Valve King. They're only like £350 and look great. I searched for it on YouTube and there were a few videos which sounded great. I reckon I'll go for it, anyone on here got one?

Hmm yeah. Surprisingly, the cheapest option for me looks like a Marshall, but I don't want one. I know they're great amps, but everyone has them, I want something different. My maximum range of money is really about £300/$574. Doesn't really help, especially considering I'm looking for a valve amp. ...

Valve Amp Heads

Hey, I'm buying a Marshall 1993 4x12 cab off a guy for £100, perfect condition this week. I'm looking for a valve amp head, maybe a Laney or an ENGL? I'm looking for a warm bluesy tone, but I want something that can also create a real heavy distorted sound that can bring down planes, any ideas?

I heard Vai hit 21 notes per second in 'The Riddle' in Total Guitar, but I'm not sure. A friend told me that he hit this 21 notes per second in the 'Answers' solo, but again, I'm not sure. Is that true that they couldn't transcribe that part in Freak Show Excess? Haha, good man Steve!

I put an evolution bridge in my RG350DX but to be perfectly honest, I was expecting a higher output at the time. However, I think this was just because at the time I played with a huge amount of distortion, and my tone and approach of playing has 'matured' since. The evolutions sound unique to whate...

Pretty sure I've heard this before from someone on this, but it'd be great if we could get forum shirts for members with a certain amount of posts, with 'vai.com - hewhoshreds' for example on them, so we could pick eachother out at Steve's gigs. Also, way more shirts. What about a 'Steves Scraps' se...

I'm 6ft5 and I'm 18 haha. It's great to see so many tall people on this forum, the majority of my mates are under 6ft. Someone told me Paul Gilbert is around my height, does anyone know what height he is?

That's awesome, I'd love to meet them. It's such a unique style and sound. What do you reckon is their best song? I think 'The Throbbe', 'The Code for Chickendon', or 'We Are Always Here'. Then again, I just bought 5 albums yesterday which I have to listen to when I get home, ohhh yeah!

Ozric Tentacles

Just wondering, has anyone else heard of them? If you're readin this, definately check them out, theyre amazing. It's like, instrumental psychedelic rock incorporating guitar, drums, keys, synths, flutes, everything. They play from reggae to metal, and they're seriously seriously under-rated.
