One main difference is that the Paf Joe uses a Ceramic Magnet while the Paf Pro uses alnice 5. I think the magnet type is one of the reasons that the Paf Joe sounds a little tighter. The Joe also has more output and some additional sustain. I think both are decent pups so I can't really recommend on...

Gold is a better conductor than silver because gold atoms are larger and thus the outer electrons are shielded from nuclear attractive forces by the inner electron shells (and the inverse square reduction in the electrostatic force!). Thus the electrons move around more freely in response to an ele...

Re: What kinda cables do you guys use?
I've been using crappy guitar cables for a while now, and i think they're contributing to signal loss, a fuzzy sound, and added hum. I want nice cables that are durable, long-lasting, and can take alot of abuse, but not too expensive. i don't want professional-quality cables used for recording, jus...

Re: need help with my RG1527
Hi, I have had my RG1527 for about a year now, and a couple of months back I took it to a repair man and he changed the strings from 0.9 to 0.10. There are now 2 springs in the guitar, one black and 2 silver. Anyway, in the last couple of weeks my tremelo (edge pro) has been a pain in the ass. I ha...

One noteworthy feature on the prestige line is that Ibanez got rid of the cost cutting scarf joint and now uses a 3 piece/continuous neck.THere is a volute where the scarf joint used to be.THis is the right way to make a neck. I have the benefit of having a luthier that used to work for the former I...
