Great show! The sound was excellent and it wasn't stupidly loud, dunno whether the guys on the desk were Steve's or the venue's but they got it right this time. I thought the support guy was a pretty bleedin great guitar player and entertaining with it. I've seen Eric Sardinas supporting a few times...

I have never bought a Prince CD but I bought the paper for the new one and although it is obviously very good I don't really like the material that much. Don't really know whether he is smart or not really? He wouldn't be in the position to release a free CD if he hadn't had deals (good or bad) in t...

Buying within the EU won't incur extra taxes, buying from outside does. I bought a transformer for my amp from Carvin and the company I work for got a bill for taxes a month later. All I did was have it delivered there but FedEx took it that my employers had purchased the item. It cost me another £2...

I've had a combo and it was really heavy so I sold it but it sounded great. I still have two VL100's and two 2x12 cabs. I find the best sound is with a VL100 on top of a 2x12 cab mic'd up with a shure SM57, 45 degrees off axis at about 2 inches from the edge of the cone. It's more portable that way ...

Who is Phil Holborne anyway? If hes the guy trying flog me effects pedals then he looks more like a drunk tramp then a reputable businessman. Not to say hes a bad effects maker just not good for sticking on stage. He wasn't the best person to have sitting next to Vai for a masterclass in my opinion...

"Some new research suggests that people who listen to heavy metal/hard rock are more intelligent than people who listen to other types of music!" So what! If it's true, good for the metal heads! I don't understand why people are getting so uptight in this thread. If the statement is true it only mea...

No! I've drop tuned two of mine to D with 10's and I didn't touch the truss rods and they both sound and play fine. I don't think you'd need to adjust it for a simple string gauge change unless you had a problem anyway. On a similar note about pitch set ups etc, I'm not too convinced about fretwave ...

I gig twice a week and usually rehearse once every two weeks and I never change my strings unless they break. I don't usually practice with my main guitars though because I'm too lazy to go and take them out of the cases, so I just use whatever is lying around (I have too many guitars!). Been doing ...
