Use a metronome.. As a bass player you and the drums are to keep the tempo tight, so a metronome is important.

I find the 52 string to be a little loose..

I buy an Ernie Ball 0.9 6 string set and buy an extra 54 for the low B :) Hope that helps..

I have an Ibanez Paul Gilbert pick I use, about the same size as the Jazz III, and I can honestly play a lot faster and CLEANER with this size compared to a regular sized pick like an Ibanez Steve Vai pick.
