Re: Who is the vocalist in "The Blood and Tears"?
TotallyGeek, thank you for living up to your screen name..... LOL - Why thank you. Actually, I lived in India for a while and my wife is from Punjab. I actually know a couple people that can have conversations strictly in Sanskrit: one studied it for her degree and one was studying to become a puja...

Re: Who is the vocalist in "The Blood and Tears"?
I thought Sanskrit was dead, and noone knew how to speak it. Anyone devoting themselves to a temple in Northern India will likely have to learn Sanskrit. You can think of it like Latin, which is the official language of the Roman Catholic Church, though people don't generally walk the halls speakin...

Re: SATRIANI SUES COLDPLAY
I don't think he means that copyright expires, but it might be hard in court when there have been a multitude of incidents where you didn't sue, but now you do.... Precisely. Especially if one artist has more money or is more popular than another. I would still like to know if the suit is brought o...

Re: how do i get the guitar to make a squeaking sound?
Sure it is not the squeak part where metal is scraped against the strings, like his trem bar?
Take your whammy bar out of its socket and run along your string for some great sounds.

Re: SATRIANI SUES COLDPLAY
I think in these cases you have to sue or you will forever lose the right to sue someone else for the same behavior. If someone copies an entire release, the argument in court will be, "He is playing favorites. It is alright for Coldplay to copy material, but not <insert cheesy band name here>?" Als...

Re: John Mayer
My girlfriend likes him, so I took her to a concert last summer. I must say, the event was at a great venue (Hollywood Bowl), he plays guitar well and there was plenty of guitar work performed, and the place was filled with women. I would go again...llamahead wrote:are there any John Mayer fans here!?!?

My question more specifically is: Has there been anything you just cannot nail every time and just simply drop from recording, play live, or trying to master. We know that Vai or Satch can do sweep picking, legato, etc, but is there some beat they just could never consistently get down. Or, does Vai...
