Re: Jem Design Contest Gallery and Questions
Loved the 7 guitar by mstaaf, there's a lot of talented graphic designers out there. mine is based on a 77FP type thing except I wanted to sacrifice my t-shirt I bought in the 80's as the cloth for the covering, it's all cracked and faded now but looks kinda cool. back of t-shirt http://farm5.static...

Re: Twitter | stevevai: Check out the winner of the Jem 77,7
Dude, those are some seriously bad ass designs! I'd LOVE to see those guitars go into production! You get a big thumbs up from me! Thanks, for the thumbs up, but it would have been a one way ticket for my beloved t-shirt I'm afraid. The whole idea was that my t-shirt would be sacrificed and actuall...

Re: Twitter | stevevai: Check out the winner of the Jem 77,7
First off congrats to Alex for his winning design - looks really cool! I had a similar idea of using photoshop and masking out the Jem shape to make my design so I don't have any excuse. I just have to accept my idea was a bit lame. I wanted to make my design using an old t shirt I've had since the ...

Re: STEVE TURNS 50! HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE
Happy Birthday Steve,
Don't forget you've managed to achieve so much in 50 years and it was all from a standing start, just imagine how much you can do in the next 50 now that you're up and running . . .
Have a great day, and many happy returns.

I think it's a great idea to have the thread, but should we wait until the closing date for the competition?

Why has the "view active topics" link stopped working?
Does anybody else have the same problem? The view active topics link used to work but since Mikey's sale of the 7 string it hasn't come back to normal. Is it only my machine or is everybody having the same problem?

Re: Beat up and Relics?
I suppose it depends, I have an RG 550 from 87 and a 770 from 91 but I also have two kids. Most things in our house become 'worn in' and 'familiar' whether I want them to or not when the kids get hold of them. but if I were to happen upon a winning lottery ticket and buy myself one of the new 77FP2'...

Re: Powerball and guitar playing...
Hi Guitarstrings, a friend of mine gave me a lend of a power ball and I have to admit, in my case I didn't find it much help. Using the device is as much about good technique as it is about building strength in your forearms. The better your technique the less good it seems to do to your forearms. b...

Re: Dual Humbucker wiring??? Please help.
Hi Seno,
I know your room mate wants a push pull pot, but has he thought of using a blend pot?
take a look at the link http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/Electro ... -4137.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
might be just what he's looking for,
cheers, hwl

Hi Mikey, Would Steve ever consider doing a regular podcast?
Hi Mikey,
Do you think Steve would ever have plans to do a regular podcast via his web site, maybe 10 or 6 a year. It would be a great way to summarise all the news and tweets so far and keep us posted on any up coming events.
Just a thought?

Re: Building a JS Guitar
Hi guitarmattms, can't quite catch if you mean building a JS or making one. The templates you speak of will give you an outline of the guitar you want to make, plus the positions of the pick ups and neck pocket etc. But, to make any use of them you'll have to buy the wood for the body, neck and fing...

Re: can anyone name this song?
sounds a bit like 'crushing day' or in the style of that song.
I don't think it's meant to be an actual song, all the problems with royalties etc., just in the style of . . .
Satch ain't shy when it comes to law suits, ask Coldplay.
