Re: 77,777 Jem, Ideas to mark the occasion

That's a pretty damn good idea!! My suggestion would perhaps be to release a limited amount of guitars that symbolises each period in Steve's career, for instance the 777's for the DLR/Early Whitesnake days, the UV77MC for his Whitesnake/PAW days, etc etc right up to the present day? Maybe that's ju...

Wow, that's absolutley incredible!
What's Max like to work with? I'm considering getting him to put together a custom for me at some stage later in the year.

Re: NGD! Jem777dy -88!

Wow, that's basically immaculate condition! Hardly any wear on the back of the neck plate - it actually looks like it popped fresh out of a time machine!
Excellent, excellent find man! Seriously, enjoy her!

Re: Tips for cross-string tapping

I'm a believer in trying/playing/practicing all sorts of everything, and I believe that eventually you will be able to utilize it in some way, whether it's tomarrow, or at some later time down the road into the future. You might revisit a concept or technique down the road a year or ten later and t...

Re: Seven String Guitar ???

Because there's no such thing as a 7-string Jem ;) Well, actually there is a black one.. but I'm just being a smart-ass. Steve uses 7-string guitars more than people think. "Under It All" was performed on a 7-string. Plus he has recently recorded with one (for a little something on the DVD), and I'...

Re: Orchestral Scores - Sound Theories

I wanted a score for THE ECSTASY OF GOLD by Ennio Morricone... i wanted it SO SO BAD so what i did was, listen to it 1000 times, transcribe the entire thing, read books on orchestration and took orchestration 'lessons' and then arranged/orchestrated/scored it on my own. I also did the same thing (f...

Re: Tips for cross-string tapping

Yeah, I've got a hair bobble across the top of the fretboard to help mute strings but they still tend to ring out and ping quite a bit, which is bloody annoying to say the least

Tips for cross-string tapping

Hey guys, I'm trying to get better at cross-string tapping but it's a slow process, and I'm having trouble muting the strings effectively while doing it.
Has anyone got any tips at how to get better/more efficient at it and perhaps some practice licks?
Thanks!

Re: Better distorted tone?

Mids are a major component of guitar tone, and definatley where a lot of players tones fall on. Often the root of tone problems is a lack of, or sometimes an excess of mids. As well as that, back off the treble, put the bass up a bit and back off the gain and prescence ever-so-slightly. You could al...

DLR Stand Up tab?

Hey,
Can anyone link me to the tab for David Lee Roth's Stand Up? I've been searching for it everywhere and can't find it.
Cheers!

Re: Slip of the Tongue 20th Anniversary Edition

Wow that sounds awesome!!
I know a lot of people somewhat bash it, but I think the Slip Of The Tongue record has been Whitesnake's best - not merely because Steve played on it. I'm mega stoked about this rerelease, especially the DVD features!
