Just missed out on seeing them live. My mates went and they said it was awesome!

Opened with a 40 minute version of Drunkship of Lanterns - genius.

Gotta be my favourite guitarist ever - never heard anyone play guiatr like that.

I think you misunderstood my post. I find his whole image really pretentious to be honest. And quite outdated. No doubt he is a good musician but to me he has a real bad attitude. He does his best to make himself sound very deep but to be honest on that album all I heard were kinda cheesy riffs and ...

To be honest I didn't like the sound of the album from when i read "Real Illusions: reflections is the first part of a multilayered menagerie of vignettes based on the amplified mental exaggerations of a truth seeking madman who sees the world... oh never mind" It has always bothered me that Vai has...

Zappa Sound

How on Earth does Frank Zappa get that specific sound and style. I've heard it described as the chicken and the spider but I just can't fathom what creates that kind of sound. I can't even really describe it. I know a lot of it is his sense of rhythm and how he plays across the beat etc but how does...

Been listening for a while now. Goddamn MK kicks ass.

His music is awesome and he has a great taping policy at shows. He even runs a website so you can trade bootlegs... what a nice chap.

Gotta be the best musician on the scene right now...

Miek Keneally is a complete genius. Perhaps my favourite rock/pop twisted craziness musician ever. This is the one record of the boxset that I think I will actually buy because MK is so great. By the way Radio Keneally is up and running..... 24/7 keneally madness... as he puts it "with your listenin...

If you wanna do guitar related stuff listen to anything that doesn't have a guitar in it. I've recently got into Drum and Bass because, well its cool but also the chords used are so beautiful and the textures can be really deep and interesting. Also play other people's music and work with other musi...

I was at the Gig. I remember it being totally wild and crazy. I don't think I ever really kept focussed on one thing for long cos there was so much going on. THe dvd footage (intentionally or accidently) really captures this aspect of it. It is a good dvd... although a little long

lol I didn't make it!!! Would have loved to but it was a money issue and didn't really have the chance. It says on his site they will be doing more concerts - hopefully in England. I really think MK is a really underrated musician on this board. HIs music just astounds me... wooden smoke is probably...

Is it referring to two different parts in different time signatures. Like a polyrhythm. The attitude song is a good example. Guitar in 7/8 and drums in 4/4. Eventually the bars line up after 7x4 bars right?

Guys what about Whispering a Prayer? I can't believe nobody mentioned that?!!!

Bangkok was great and the arrangement of Blood and Glory is just awesome too. Little Wing would be up there too if it weren't for that horrible wank fest at the very end.
