Aftermarket acoustic modelling hardware à la Line6?

Hi all I've got two Euphoria acoustics, one of each model that's been made. The older green one (Eve) has been in with a guitar tech for a long time waiting for a replacement pickup. Given that the new Euphoria has a better pickup on it, I'd really love to fit some kind of modelling pickup/preamp to...

Mikey/All to add to posts above regarding bringing guitars to the EVO to be signed - has anyone contacted the Nottingham venue yet to ask? (to save me the phonecall)? Alternatively, Mikey, is there a gap in the EVO "schedule" to allow people to nip back to their cars and stow guitars away?! Thanks M...

It's theoretically possible to play that bit on a 22-fret neck but the neck joint will come into play and may make it impossible. The alternative to the JEM is the RG series - 24 frets and pretty much similar in design to the JEM except different colours and no monkey grip. I've got one (RG 470) and...

Robert Fripp

I hope this is the right forum for this, seeing as this concerns music theory a bit. I was at the Bournemouth G3 gig last night and went there fully determined to have an open mind to Fripp's ambient set, assuming that there must be a good reason why Messrs. Vai and Satriani picked him for the tour....

IMO it's a different emphasis. Some guitarists genuinely love and take pride in the fact that they can play fast. It's fun - I know I enjoy it, that doesn't mean I can't play soulfully and only limit the fast stuff to when it can be truly expressive. Finding a balance is the best thing, but that doe...

Bizarre - I always thought most used thumb & middle. I do - although I've never had a single lesson or pointer in my life, from book or person, so I'm probably not representative.

While there's a lot of boxes out there doing the same kind of thing, I find the POD fantastic - I record by plugging it straight into the soundcard and it's immense. These kind of things are getting cheaper nowadays, so you might be able to find something that does the same kind of thing if your bud...

Never needed to change frets in many years. Some people naturally sweat more with their fingers when they're playing, and this leads to the corrosion. Forgive me if you're doing this already, but try a routine whereby you put Fast-Fret on the strings before and after playing, and wash and thoroughly...

My first electric was a Squier Strat. Gradually I upgraded and eventually ended up taking to the headstock with a black marker pen and a bit of sandpaper so it said something a little ruder and more descriptive... Recently I took some tools, lem oil etc back to my parents' house where the guitar is ...

hey! did you start playin' yesterday or something?! only kidding man, here's your answer. legato literally means smoothly, in guitar speak it refers to runs of notes where you play it with slides, hammer-ons and pull-offs so that the harsher attack of picking the note isn't heard and so the sequence...

I normally write and record full songs, vocals and all, and often just come up with a song walking home from the supermarket or something. but at the moment i'm trying to do some instrumental stuff as well. what i'd suggest is putting the guitar down, getting an idea in your head, a cool riff, a dru...

Not massively visual, but tapping on the whammy bar as if it's another fret is quite cool. Well I think so anyway. Which is all that matters.
