Rockers have had that guitar for at least a couple of years - I imagine they would take offers! Not sure if they'll take offers but the price is very off considering the £:$ exchange rate right now. I posted this back in March 2005 Rockers had a few strange Ibanez guitars like the Biax custom RG550...

Here in the UK the Jackson DK2 is the best value for money gitar on the market. £330 gets you a Japanese made guitar with real SD pickups (more for the maple fingerboard version) which is £200 less than the RG1570 and you only get V7/V8 in the Ibanez and a proprietary trem. The DK2 trem route will t...

Next time you are about to undertake something like this be sure to stop by jemsite.com and projectguitar.com. There is a low profile tremolo system that would have been a straight swap - called Lo-Pro Edge funnily enough. Not as low profile as the one you ended up with but it would have fit straigh...

It's an excellent guitar for the money.

If you want a white RG or hate the super skinny wizard/super wizard necks on the RG1xxx and RG2xxx this is a great guitar to get, esp now with the INF pickups as they are tons better than the old powersounds.

The thing is Evos are so sensitive that they pick up and amplify all the other noises you inadvertantly make while playing and that turns it all to mush. They are also very sensitive to attack and fingering which makes them very expressive if you are skilled. If you are not a very precise player you...

GAK are well known for not updating their inventory for many months at a time so the only way to check if they still sell those is to give them a call.
Rockers on Denmark street still have a 2002 model (lo-pro edge) on the wall selling for £1699 and considering the price I'd say it's a NOS.

You're confusing the location of manufacture with the quality of the product. Why couldn't China make an excellent guitar if they had ALL the same ingredients the Fujigen factory had (and the oversight of Ibanez's their top luthiers)? They can, anyone can. This has nothing to do with race or geogra...

:D Wow so 3 people jumped and none of you addressed the real point I was making - how many of you would pay US Strat money for a Chinese Strat? The only reason people buy Squire/Mexican Strat/Japanese Jackson is because their money don't stretch enough for a US one. That's the one and only reason - ...

Dude I might be wrong but when I see in my local music store that the Chinese Squier is £99, the Mexican Fender is £299, the Japanese one is £499 and the US strat is £699 - I can't see how a Made in China strat can be succesful at £699......can you? This is not about stereotypes - it's about pure ec...

Fernandes used to have a 7 string sustainer - I have personally played a 7 string Fernandes Revolver that had a suistainer installed but I'm not sure if these were ever available on their own.

The biggest problem I have is not China itself but the fact that the cost of labour in China allows for them to be able to make $99 guitars that retail chains sell at profit. That means that the actual unit cost is very, very low. In my mind with the cost of labour in China even $500 will buy you a ...

I still feel a little iffy paying $1400 for a chinese made acustic.... not many will pay $15000 for a chinese car. People wouldn't even consider a Korean car for that money never mind chinese. The chinese are still competing on the world market by cost of labour - that's the only advantage they have...

Measure the distance between the studs and if it is 74mm then it will but you'll have to shim the hell out of the neck as the trem will have to sit on top of the guitar. All in all - not really worth it. Why don't you ebay your RG170 and with the money you get + the money you were going to spend on ...

 I'm not saying you can't play - I'm saying I can't play and I went through years getting real cool guitars and effects and the odd amp thinking it would make me sound better but they didn't. If you're asking other people's advice on a new guitar you are going to get - well, just get what you w...
