I think most of you are trying to apply an objective, concrete definition to something that's relatively subjective. ESPECIALLY when you get to things outside the realm of "what you can physically play", i.e. the realm of "inspiration" and the realm of "do i like it", where you can't quantify things...

File Sharing isn't stealing. It's copyright infringement. Stealing involves taking something from somebody so they no longer have it. File sharing would be like going up to that Farari and pressing a button and having another one just like it show up in your garage. Ferrari won't be too hapy that yo...

Transiberian orchestra did Canon in D. I know this because they played it at my high school for the class of '05 graduation.

you should be able to tell if it's really yngwie, because his playing is distinct and easy to spot.

The Best Guitar Solo I've Ever Heard.

Allman Brothers - Blue Sky.

No, it's not fast, it's not technical, it's completely inside, and theres nothing really particularly scholarly impressive about it.

But man, that is one amazing solo.

(by solo i mean the lead guitar throughout the song, btw)

Ricardo's got it down pretty well. I try to avoid using accidentals because it makes sight reading a bit more difficult (for me at least :p)

Someone posted a video a while back of some 12 year old playing "eruption" and noodling around. He really sucked, he coudl barely get through it and it was sloppy as hell, but there were people on stage bowing down to him like some sort of god. It was quite asanine

He's a lot better than that kid that slopped through eruption and had people bowing down to him.

My reply to Magmas: STFU, if you don't care, stay out of the thread.

Anyways, Neewhan was an entertaining fellow. I found him extremely annoying at first but found his nonsensical banter to lighten the mood 8)

Um, no.
That's not what I said.

I said "very difficult to transcribe by ear"

I wrote a black-pageish piece a while ago. i tried to keep the whole "not quite tonal" feel of it (which he does by switching scales a lot) going. It kind of sucked.

What is so tough about that? Can't you read music?
I'm going to assume that was directed at me.

The difficulty isn't in reading it. It's transcribing it from just a live audio recording. I know I couldn't do it
