'Just got back from Nottingham - what else can I say? absolutely tremendous show. The new line-up works extremely well - they actually all looked like they were enjoying it. All About Eve and Taurus Bulba were the highlights for me, although overall it was a very well chosen set. I bought an evo tic...

Try using a program called, Absolute Fretmaster, or this free one http://www.musictheory.net/trainers/html/id81_en.html. After a few weeks hard work with Absolute Fretmaster I can now name all the notes on the fretboard against the clock and it's really helped with my understanding of music and the...

I'm still ordering a copy but I agree the postage is ludicrous. I airmail a lot of stuff to and from the states, I would have thought $10 at the very most. I had a guitar shipped by FedEx once and I think it was only about $70 or so.

I have accumulated a load of signed Vai stuff... pickguards, guitars, CDs etc... Personalised autographs are one thing, but I can't understand the appeal with people purchasing autographed memorabillia from e-bay.

I'd rather get a photograph than an autograph...

I can't believe anyone would actually buy it. I'll buy most Vai related merchandise, but I draw the line at that...

I actually like most of Flexible and Flexible leftovers. I went on a Frank Zappa binge for a couple of years, I think I appreciated them more after that.

I'm not really a fan of "Under It All". Its not that I can't deal with the whole introspective thing, it just makes me uncomfortable somehow.

Mikey, I don't suppose you know if it would be possible to buy an Evo ticket at the same time as regular tickets? On the previous 2 occasions I bought one, I ended up sitting in a different part of the venue to the people I went to the show with because this was not possible at the time.

Yeah, I think "For Whom The Bell Tolls" was recorded half a step up so it was at the same pitch as the bell sample in the song.

I would be interested as to how "in tune" Dragonforce are now that their habit of speeding up their leads has came out.

The new album, Get Outta My Yard, is a good starting point if you want to hear what he is capable of playing like. His other solo albums are generally more classic rock "song" orientated and while they have the odd flourish of technical excellence here and there, they don't really showcase his playi...
