Re: Stillness in Motion - Vai Live in L.A

I ended up listening to the audio first yesterday as I got the auto rip files from amazon whilst my CDs and DVDs were still in the post. It's great to get another full concert release especially as I didn't make it to a show on this tour. I'm part way through DVD 1 now and it is good and seems to be...

Re: Building the Church Live Tapping Solo

http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/28651/btc_live_tapping.pdf Thanks! Now I just needs some some serious practice! By the way, the book for Real Illusions: Reflections is utter crap. One of the tracks (Under It All, I think) is arranged for a guitar in "B" tuning; obviously Steve played it on a 7 string in...

Re: Building the Church Live Tapping Solo

True and a lot of the solo is shown close up but the cameras do switch a few times so it is difficult to make it all out. With the new preview trailer the camera is close up all the way through but I'm still struggling to follow which string is hammered on every fret and to get the order. Sometimes ...

Building the Church Live Tapping Solo

I'd like to try and learn how to play this properly. The Live version seems quite different to the studio version and the official book doesn't even write it out for tapping. Now that the trailer for Where The Wild Things Are is out has anyone managed to write this version out correctly?

Re: Naked Tracks, part umpteen

Great - I think I have all the books but there are still a few tracks that haven't been published.

Re: How about a re-record of Passion & Warfare :)?

Maybe the album will get a re-master or even a 5.1 mix for its 20th anniversary, but that's a MAYBE. For some albums a surround sound release really is a whole new experience. I'm a huge fan of Queen and have "A Night at the Opera" and "The Game" in DTS 24/96 5.1 as well as the standard stereo CD r...

Re: [News Item]Steve Vai: Naked Tracks - Available Now!

Got my order in now as well :D I was on the fence about getting the CDs a bit as I thought the International delivery was going to work out as much as the product but I was pleasantly surprised as it was a bit less. The exchange rate with the dollar is making everything more expensive these days. No...

I don't believe we're going to have signed copies - that would hold up things even longer.

Just to clarify the CD set will be available via the online Vai Store only?

Re: [News Item]Steve Vai: Naked Tracks - Available Now!

Just noticed that Amazon are now selling mp3's in the UK and the naked track albums are £5.99 each so that is pretty close to the dollar price at today's exchange rate (rather that the 1 to 1 rate we usually end up with!). I'd still rather have the CDs I think so hopefully I can resist a little long...

Any ideas on pricing for the CD set? I'm watching the exchange rate become less and less favourable so I'm not sure if I'll be better off getting the physical CDs or downloading from iTunes. :(

On the EP7 they are D'Addario EXP strings Phosphor Bronze 12 to 53 gauge I believe. I assume the EP9 is the same.

Cool Demo - now i want one again!

What is with the neck pick up on the Jem 7VWH? It looks smaller than the others - at first I thought another type of sustainer (not the Fernandes as that is the same size and doesn't have the pole pieces) but I can't see any on/off or mode switches.

August, I hope. There will be a special page going up shortly with information about the tracks. They will also be available directly through iTunes - perhaps sooner than the physical CDs are available. Mikey :) vai.com Are the tracks going to be in iTunes around the world or is the deal just in th...
