Re: Renowned guitarist who don't use effects
I don't quite get your point. I saw Thin Lizzy last year and John Sykes went straight into a Boss TU-2 and then directly into one Marshall JCM 800. That's it and this information comes not from his tech or a guitar magazine. Does a JCM800 have an effects loop, hidden away around the back? Is it jus...

Re: Renowned guitarist who don't use effects
I'd like to know where everyone is getting their information about famous guitarists not using effects? From the players themselves? Maybe from their trusted, hired guitar techs? Hmmmm.....Well if you send me $/£100 I can make you better looking, your hair thicker and your manhood longer, whilst in...

Re: Digitech Time Bender
Boss DD 20 has a nice tap-pedal too. Funny thing is, that two weeks ago, i decided to sell my two Digitech Digidelays and replace them with the Boss DD20. The Digidelays were really cool sounding and very reliable. Used them for three years of live playing and abusing and they never let me down. If ...

Re: VOX AC15
Well then i can can only tell you to try out a Fender Blues DeVille 4x10 combo.
This thing has so much clean, powerfull headroom, that it is really ridiculous.
Put a distortion pedal in front of it and watch your pants!

Re: VOX AC15
Well, if your main concern is about being heard, why don't you just connect your Fender combo to a 4x12 cab? This way you'll see, how a 4x12 cab sounds and how it disperses the sound. What I don't get is, why the AC 30 is too loud for you? I mean you said that you play in a band, and i think the AC ...

Re: VOX AC15
The AC 15 is a cool amp, but since you said you wanted some loud cleans, you should look elsewhere. The AC 15 doesn't have enough headroom to provide really loud cleans. How do you get your distorted sounds: are you using the amps overdrive or are you using a pedal in front of the clean channel? If ...

Re: The new hard tail Jem
It's really not a joke
This thing is so ugly and makes no sense to me.
A fixed bridge on a JEM, why, why ?!
I just don't see the point...
On the other hand, we are all free to choose, whether we buy it or not.

Thanx for the advice Ultraviolet, but the problem starts here: we have different PA's every night, depending on the location. It's not possible for me to choose, what kind of monitors I wanna play through, except for bringing my own monitors to the gigs. Both guitarists mike the cabinets and its not...

Monitor sound in a live situation
I wasn't quite sure where to post this but i hope this is the right place. I'm really interested in the way you guys set your monitor sound. Although I'm playing constantly live with my band, I'm never satisfied with the way the monitors sound. I must add, that we have our own sound engeneer and hav...

The guys who posted before are absolutely right. Wait, save some money and go for the real deal. I have a Jems 7VSBL and wanted another Jem( or Jem-like guitar) as a spare guitar, but didn't have the money for a Jem. I played a 555 and it just wasn't the same. I also have two really nice old RG's wi...

Cool, I'll try to find it. Thanx.alexkhan wrote:I read that there was a transcription for it. It's some late-2005 issue. Maybe you can dig it out from your collection.Jemfever wrote:Thanx for the info.
I purchase the Guitar Techniques mag since 2001 and it's great.
Will there be a transcription of his parts in it?
