Re:
Of course the originals were just copies. Steve was doing it all by himself out of his house in Sylmar. No managers, publicists, agents, stylists, or personal assistants. Lo-tech, old-school style...... Sooo.... I have some of Steve's DNA with which I can make a clone of my own? :guitar :hea...

Re: 2016 Tour
Does anyone (Mods) happen to know when the fall leg dates will be released? So far I have always gotten great seats, I want to make sure my streak continues!

Re: Original printed 1984 Mini Lessons??
I bought the originals back in 1989 from LWH, I wouldn't dream of selling them. Especially since Steve posts the info on his website , albeit without the swell pictures! :) But that means that I know have Steve's DNA available and I don't need to buy a Jem to get it!!! C'mon science! Daddy needs som...

New amp and OD question
Hi all, I have finally returned to the living and gotten my first tube amp in almost 20 years (I had reasons.... :( ) Anyway I got a Carvin V3M and even though it has 2 OD channels I am having a semi hard time dialing in a nice semi-clean singing sustain. I have been told that the OD channels should...

Recording engineering books
My son wants to go to recording/engineering school. Some of the comments though that I have received from people who went to such trade schools is that basically he will never be able to recoup the cost of tuition. To paraphrase: “The recording industry is completely dead and 99% of the major studio...

Re: Home recording software
Thanks Patill. I think you opened my eyes to lok a little closer. Perhaps I looked too quickly. Guitar Pro 5.1 is tab writing software. And even though I knew that Pro tools was pricy, I didn't realize quite the whole picture! I did a brief search and I think this is the sort of thing I am looking f...

Happy holidays to all. There have been discussions on topics similar, but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I am trying to figure out what to get my 18 year old son for Xmas in terms of recording for him to mess around with. I looked at the Tascam DP-004 & 008 for recording to an SD card...

Has anyone else heard of this thing. Probably so. In my local Craigslist tonight there was a post saying something to the effect that they were looking for someone who had one of "these thing". Then they posted 3 youtube links. There are probably easier ways to accomplish the same thing, but at firs...

Autograph protection
Hey all, this has been discussed to some extent, but I'm hoping to get some more thoughts on this. I have been lucky enough to get my guitar signed by a bunch of people, Steve, SRV & brother Jimmy, Johnny Winter (Edgars rubbed off :( ) , Steve Morse, John Mclaughlin, etc. It's on an Ibanez AS50 (sim...

General lesson opinion
Hello all, I'm sure this topic has been covered in various forms, but I appreciate any and all opinions. My son is almost 16. He has been fooling around on the guitar for about 2 years now. He had some basic lessons in the beginning, but if I was to ask him to play me some basic chords quickly he wo...
