Indeed, a great show. My ears are still ringing. I agree with HarryHood (who I met standing in line waiting for his backstage passes)... it was too loud. The mix got much better as the night went on. Steve is playing better than he ever has, I think. Awesome set list, very much what you all are goin...

Just one correction for you guys. The 414 is NEVER 3" from the amp. If anything, it's about 3 feet away from the furthest wall from the amp. :) Whenever I set up room mics, they'd be about 8-10 feet away from the cabinet, about 6-7 feet in the air, and pointed at the amp (at least, that's how it was...

Couple of responses here: Steve's V8s, as far as I know, are standard V8s (I think they're VSeries2... I'll check my iPhoto library to be sure if anyone REALLY cares), but the cones have been upgraded to titanium (on the tweeter only, as far as I remember). Neil bought those, I believe, from Guitar ...

When you're talking about recording, there are a lot of issues to think about. Steve spends days (literally) getting tones that he likes to record. There's also post-production work done on the tone of everything on his recordings. Also, if you're trying to sound like EVO, good luck. :) Steve played...

Steve is an excellent guitar player, but he doesn't play any classical guitar. In fact, he's even asked me once or twice for fingerstyle/classical guitar tips for right hand work. :) It's obviously not that he doesn't have the capacity for it, but he already can do so much with his right hand that f...

Thanks for your responses! I live in a fairly small apartment with thin floors. I don't like to disturb my downstairs neighbors with my guitar playing. When I record, I'd like to record with the amp at high volume to really get the tubes working, so that's why I want to build a box. I did get these ...

The video was filmed in San Francisco. I don't remember the name of the studio, but I know it was up near the Digidesign SF office. Sorry it took so long to get a response. I can get precise details if you really need them. Steve does a quick demo and so does his engineer, the man himself, Neil Citr...

Server upgrade is complete. There are a couple of other things that I'm gonna take care of to get everything back the way it used to be, but it looks like all of the content and message board stuff is back online! Many thanks to all of you for your patience regarding the board downtime, which was co...
