Re: Steve's new album "The Story of Light" is being rel

To be honest, except for about 2 or 3 songs on it, I'm pretty disappointed in the release.

Sometimes less is more, but then I suppose I'm not the hardcore Vai fan I once was.

Watched some of the live deal yesterday. Looks interesting, though the videos don't load very well so far.

Re: Who thinks we have a world record?!

I'd actually like to thank Steve for that. I sold my electric guitars last year because it felt as if I swimming up Niagra Falls, not because of technique or practicing, but because of the frustration of releasing music and not have anyone really care, thinking that I was making the "wrong kind of m...

Re: Things to know about floyds before buying.

you probably didn't buy an Ibanez with a Floyd You prob bought an Ibanez with a double locking tremolo- likely an EDGE tremolo. Some are good some are garbage i'd recommend getting good springs for the guitar above all else- fender makes some black trem springs they use in the American Strats that ...

Re: garage band

Weiner's video is a little too much, in my opinion. The most you need is a simple interface and a mic. USB works fine, Firewire is faster and easier to expand. M-Audio makes good units, among a zillion others. I've used a number of them from M-audio to MOTU to Line6. Currently I like the Line6 Tonep...

Re: Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards (album, podcasts ect)

I think Campitelli's style is only limited to what Joe demands from him, and by accepting it I think he(Campitelli) found a nice, safe, warm job. +2 on His best CD in years, even if the song structures and melodic content are not as varied(Bass lines do their job but nothing else) as I would have h...

Re: Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards (album, podcasts ect)

A couple of observations: I like most of it. A few songs are a little  , but that's pretty good. the only negative comment I have is that I am not a big fan of Campitelli's drumming. He's an excellent time keeper, but....a little conservative. I'd rather hear something a little more aggressive...

"God is Crying" is..... :headbang

I love most of it so far. Haven't bought a Satriani album since Strange Beautiful Music.

Edit to add: "Wormhole Wizards" is equally :headbang

Re: Boy, you have to love capitalism...

I don't think all of them have horrible working condition and crazy hours... and the pay probably does suck- but its not as bad as Nike charging $150 for a 25c pair of shoes- if only the 8 year olds that made them knew how much we pay for them. and it's not so much 'cheap crap' as it is that we inf...

Re: Boy, you have to love capitalism...

I'm conflicted about that. While it's nice to be able afford and nicely built guitar, and in fact many of them are, it saddens me to know that overseas workers pump this stuff out for very little money, unsafe working conditions and long hours. Is it really worth it to feed the West's insatiable des...

So, what do you think of Black Country Communion? http://www.bccommunion.com/ Glen Hughes Jason Bonham Joe Bonamassa Derek Sherinian I like what I've heard. I've been listening to this CD since Thursday and gotta say I love it. No big surprise though since I've been a huge fan of Smokin' Joe Bonama...
