It's a Fine Line

Hey all, Firstly let me apologize if this is in the wrong forum area, but at Steve's Masterclass in Perth (ages ago), there was one question I was dying to ask him, but just didn't get the opportunity. Too many people wanted to know things like his favourite colour, what type of fan he uses on stage...

Re: STEVE VAI ALBUM UPDATE AND SONG PREVIEW ON YOUTUBE

That song is original/phat/awesome!! I mean, why would there ever be any doubt? Every section is a surprise.

How does he continuously write albums/songs that don't sound like any other guitarist when the rest of them all sound like each other (with very few exceptions)?

Re: For those who pre-ordered...

I had ordered some other bits at the same time I pre-ordered. They arrived today. However, no DVD/CD.....disappointing.

The DVD/CD portion of the order says "Backordered" as well.

I know exactly what you mean. Understandably, setups can be a very personal choice, but what I find amazing is the fact that so many guitars on display have crappy old, crusty, horrible feeling strings. I usually find this is the case with the nicer guitars because everyone who comes in wants to 'te...

Nice bit of wood.....mahogany? Cheers. Mahogany it is. Surprisingly light guitar though. I've since had a good chance to put this guitar through it's paces and is definitely one of my faves. Not 100% sure about the SD p/ups though. Don't get me wrong, they absolutely scream, but I find Dimarzio's t...

6 or 7. It's such a personal preference. I, for one, prefer 7. I was in the army in Panama, when Ibanez first released the RG 7 string and I couldn't wait to get back to the states to get one. And get one I did. A royal blue RG7620 which I still have to this day. It's a bit different now: installed ...

Rather than considering releasing an entire S&R concert on a DVD, might I suggest perhaps including maybe a single song from that performance as special feature on any future DVD release? Something like that would be an awesome addition to the normal backstage shots, interviews, and other dvd specia...

There is a preset for Ballerina on Guitar Rig. A few of the 'fx units' it uses are a bit weird and not sure what would match them by way of real fx units.

The sound quality isn't brilliant, but the actual effect is spot on. It's pretty freakin cool to play.

One word - Jemini More words - Having V.G.A.S. (Vai Gear Acquisition Syndrome) I just got mine and it sounds awesome through my Legacy. The 'red' side has a fantastic heavy distortion (thru clean channel) that's quite thick and bassy. Before I was using a DS-1 (more Vai gear) which I was happy with,...

I run a Hot Plate with my Legacy and I bloody love it. Obviously with the Legacy being a loud as it is, it's hard to really push it without going deaf and pissing the neighbours off. The THD really lets its true tone sing and in some respects because of its features, it improves the amp's overall to...
