Re: Just picked up Steve's Passion & Warfare Wah!!

Yeah I checked out your youtube stuff, very cool!

We sold 5 Reissue systems and just started delivering them recently. Currently working on the new Redesigned Wah and then AFTER that will most likely be a standalone pedal and then lots of cool control stuff :)

Just picked up Steve's Passion & Warfare Wah!!

Hey guys, check this out. Awhile ago, I had purchased 2 of Steve Vai's personal rack wahs which he has used since the mid 80s. I just got back from picking them up last night and man it's just barely starting to kick in about how crazy cool this is, haha! The first one is an EMB Audio Remote Wah. Th...

Re: What wah pedal does Steve use in 'For the Love of God'?

I was always led to believe that it was in fact the EMB Audio wah. Steve had it since around 1987 and it was his main wah up until around 1992/1993. He used a modified dunlop for a short period then went to morley. But yeah, FTLOG supposedly is the EMB wah and while not super obvious, it does sound ...

EMB Audio Wahs are BACK!

Hey everyone, the company that built Steve's custom wah pedals in the 80s is now back! EMB Audio built custom units for Steve and these were used until the mid 90s when he began to use other brands and finally settling with Morley. checkout the Facebook page for more info: http://www.facebook.com/EM...

Looking for a pic: Early 90s Steve Rig giveaway from a mag

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have (or even know what I'm talking about :) ) the photo of Steve from the early 90s which was for a guitar magazine giveaway? I believe they were giving away an entire rig and Steve was photographed with it.

thanks!

Yeah, I like it a lot :) It's kinda 50/50 between the dunlop and EMBs but the Dunlop has more of that traditional wah tone but with a large sweep so I tend to use that one the most mainly cuz I fear that the EMBs will fall victim to the dreaded emb curse if I keep using them :(

Yup, the rackmounted Dunlop 2SR wah. I can dial in EMB style tones and it actually sounds more vocal but without the extended low end sweep. If it had that, it would be PERFECT. But with the onboard EQ, sweep range, boost, etc you can dial in some serious wah tones that cover anything from funk, cla...

That section does sound similar to the EMB audio tone but it's hard to say for sure. I am thinking it was just a bad horsie with some other stuff going on.
