Re: A SINCERE and REAL THOUGHT about Steve Vai

Pretty valid thread if you ask me. Vai fans I general are pretty unwilling to say that Steve is capable of anything less than total perfection. And that's not healthy. If somebody thinks Vai looks kinda goofy sometimes, you can't say they are wrong. And saying, "oh yeah?! Well he is way better at gu...

This is stuff I know. But it is not stuff I asked about. Thank you for your two cents.

Re: Reverb Problem: EHX Cathedral vs TCE Hall of Fame

And for the record, TONS of good amps don't have reverb.

Re: Reverb Problem: EHX Cathedral vs TCE Hall of Fame

Clearly you have missed the point of this thread. I have two amps with very different reverbs. Running stereo through them doesn't work when the wash on my two sounds is so dissimilar. A stereo reverb will even things out very nicely and make my sounds blend well. Now, as for reverb pedals, I've lis...

Pretend it doesn't matter. Just tell me what you think about the pedals.

Reverb Problem: EHX Cathedral vs TCE Hall of Fame

I'm going to pick up a reverb pedal soon and have it narrowed down to two that I particularly like. They are the Electro Harmonix Cathedral Reverb and the TC Electronic Hall of Fame. They've both got their strong suits and the things that are unique to either pedal are things I think I might really ...

Re: A Thread About Delay Pedals

I understand the benefits of a delay in the loop but I don't really understand any negatives of not having it in the loop. In other words, I don't find anything explicitly negative about not having a delay in the loop. Unless you just want to keep your chain short on the way in. What are the facts p...

Re: A Thread About Delay Pedals

I used to have a DL-4. Very awesome pedal and the looper is so functional. I've heard the good things about running delays and other time based/modulation effects in the loop but my amps are super old and don't have them, so I am stuck running everything out front and the sound is just fine. It woul...

Re: A Thread About Delay Pedals

Good stuff, for sure. The tone of those pedals is ok and I appreciate the variety in delay styles and the stereo ins and outs but at the end of the day I needed subdivisions and tap tempo built in.

Re: chord changes

Simply put, a perfect authentic cadence is a V chord resolving to a I or i chord that is in root inversion and with the root note also voiced in the soprano part. A plagal cadence happens after the final perfect authentic cadence in a piece. You may know it from church as the little tag at the end o...

A Thread About Delay Pedals

As of today I have two delays on my board. I've had one of the new Deluxe Memory Man delays for a year or two and just added a TC Electronic Nova Delay with the IB Modification available when you order through Sweetwater or Pro Guitar Shops. I have to say that I love it... so far as I can tell. It's...

Call again and raise hell. Tell her you want to speak to someone higher up than her about this. And when you do, tell them that she is providing you really horrible customer service and that you are dissatisfied with Musician's Friend.

The graphite trick is a good one. I use it on my classical guitar from time to time.
