any marshall tube amp is a good tube amp (well it should sound......marshally, and I assume thats what you're going for) so, whatever you can get. Just look around on ebay. You should be able to get a used JCM800 in that price range if you're going for that classic 80s sound, all sorts of rock, etc....

Ibanez RG1570 for $750 its a Prestige Ibanez, made in Japan so build quality should be top notch. Edge Pro trem so no problems there.
