Zappa talks about Steve

Guitar World has posted an '82 interview w/ Frank Zappa. In it he talks about how much he enjoyed playing w/ Steve, brought a tear to my eye. You can FEEL the genuine respect from him. :peace

Re: overdrive

Hey Al, How about a compressor? You can use it with or without your current OD. You can get a smooth sustainy tone with the right one.

Re: How do you set up stereo (for delays etc.)

A trick I used to do is putting a second delay unit AFTER a "stereo" chorus. I would route one of the chorus outs to the delay into say amp #1. The second chorus out would go to amp #2. I would then set the delay for a super quick slap back with the effect mix on the delay totally wet (no dry signal...

Re: Reverb Pedal...whats a good choice?

Hey PJay. I have the Holy Grail from Electro Harmonix. I love it. Does not alter your tone. The Boss unit is OK, but it did change my tone when I would turn it off.

Peace.

A.....Simple Dream

Hello all. I wanted to share a dream with you. Last night I dreamed I was Steve's best friend. We chatted at length about a "new" Jem as well as some musical current event stuff. It was so vivid and real. Steve and myself also tooled around town checking out the local music scene. I have no idea wha...

Re: Steve And Starbucks

All I can say is lol. I was only wondering because I thought Steve didn't partake in any extra "sugar" or maybe certain dairy products. Honestly, it is none of my biz.

btw, do you know which one he goes to?
Just kidding people.

Peace

Re: A New Jem????

Dude, that guitar looks beautiful. Think of the versatility of it. ALL the tones of a "regular" Jem, with the added sustain of a hard tail. I am assuming it is string through body. I am chomping at the bit to check one out @ the local "geetar" store.

Re: TV interview video

Oh my, every once in awhile, one of my heroes turns me on to one of their heroes, then WHAM! I again have a new hero. Thank you Steve for turning me on to the "elixer" that is Frank. "Genious" does not even scratch the surface. As far as the bells and gloks, I look at that stuff like parsley on a pl...

New Steve And Kids Story

Hello all, My 3 year old niece was riding in the car with me on the way to Lord knows where. Normally, she would want Hannah Montana or Doodle something on the old cd player. On this trip, she asked,"Uncle Dave, play YOUR music." I thought about it, and showed her Passion and Warfare. Yuppers, that ...

Re: Steve Vai, Metaphysics, Astral Projection?

I would believe each person has there own personal experience with projection. It is VERY private and can only be experienced by that person on there own journey. To relate the stories may or may not help you. My advice? (if you even want it) Don't chase it, relax, and let it wash over you like a wa...

Re: evo knobs

the story I have heard is he got the knob from the late Danny Gatton. It helps with volume swells when you can't get to a volume pedal
