Start improvising over these using the respective arpeggios. Relying on one single scale to improvise over a chord progression isn't a good idea.

That's easily explained by the fact that there are more than one position for pentatonic scales, and also that improvisation isn't restricted to these 5-notes scales.

Thanks for sharing these pics Nikkoe. Where were you standing for shooting these photos? Where you near the stage? I was at the very first row, right behind this guy holding this camera who NOW I think I realize was Mikey ( ), right next to the speakers. In fact, my ears buzzed for the whol...

I actually had a very weird dream last night. I dreamt that somehow, I'd got tickets for one of the G3 shows in Australia, and was actually backstage, watching Satriani play his set from my nice little spot. Steve was actually in the crowd, and when he somehow caught a glimpse of me backstage, and w...

Alright, here's a few more, but since most of the 550 are blurry, I've only selected the very best shots to show you. Here is one picture that I took at this very same show at Montreal: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c371/Nikkoe/ZappaPlaysZappa505.jpg I have about 550 pictures of that night, but this one is my favorite, and I'm too lazy to upload them all. Please note this picture was took with a low-budget 6 MP...

THIS was AWESOME. Sorry for this late reply, but the show was simply WONDERFUL! Anyone who's hesitating to go and see this, pay yourself this treat! It's definitely worth it! The high of the night was certainly the guitar duo on Montana with Dweezil and Zappa. And also, what a character, that Napole...

I've the chance actually to buy a Peavey Triple XXX used for 800$ CAN., but the thing is, I've heard bad things about this model. I should probably give it a try anyway, but not sure if I'll actually buy it. Any thoughts on this? Is the Marshall TSL a tube amp? Oh, and that Carvin model looks great....

I guess I should try out a Legacy to know :P Too bad you don't really see them often over here in shops in Quebec. :? I've been considering Mesa Boogie as well for a long time, but aren't those more reknown for their distortion ? Would it be awkward to play jazz through a semi-hollow body plugged in...
