Heres what my entry level jap ibby did, along with a gt6 and a solid state marshall. I like tiger am looking into a high end tube amp (5150 II) and i plan to use its distortion channel along with the gt6 in the effects loop and for clean. Sorry for the sloppy playing- never did bother nailing the e...

I am on the opposite side of the fence to the venerable Mr. Tiger, as I have the Evolution pickups and they do what I want them too and don't know what the Screamin Demons will do. I am a Vai style player and I can see why he uses these pickups. The pickups I had before didn't even do the job. Evol...

Mr. Tiger, I am crying with myrth at this question.[...] So, basically you are telling me that if I put a DiMarzio Evolution pu in my low-end Ibanez EX from 1991 it will sound pretty close to a high-end Jem, right? I'd like to believe you, really, but my empirical knowledge tells me otherwise. Anyw...

What tube amp have you ordered and how much is it costing? Maybe I will upgrade also. And one more question, I might upgrade my pickups. You recommended Seymore Deamons but what about Vais choice of Dimarzio evolutions for a hotter tone? How do the Deamons compare to the Evolutions? I don't have a ...

I can see your point and would like to ask you how you differenciate «good wood» from «poor wood»? Price? Feel? Ressonant characteristics? Check this out: A few months ago I tried out two cheap models from Jackson which I believe have been discontinued as I can't find them in the website. They were ...

I had a fixation for those Ibanez picks for a long time but then it got harder and harder to buy them around here. For some years I tried all kinds and brands until I settled for the already mentioned Jim Dunlop Jazz III . They're confy and seldom fall from my fingers. And they're quite easy to stic...

Re: How to get the best false harmonics??

What is the most important component of a setup to get those wild false harmonics like Steve uses throughout the song Juice? Im thinking of buying a BOSS GT-6 multi-effects processor to get that sound but my guitar is a Revolver Elite Pro from Fernandes and a little $215 amp Called Cube-30 from Rol...

I feel like I should give my personal opinion about this piece of information: Mr. Pom-Bear, This has been around for a long time and I thought you ought to know. The difference between Basswood and Alder bodies doesn't make a big difference. It doesn't even make enough of a difference to tell them ...

Same problem here. I'll tell you about the Red Rogue when it gets here and record a few sound clips to give you an idea of what it can do. :)

'Cause I'm kinda aiming for an amp with a Fenderish clean, Marshallish distortion and Mesaish or Soldanoish[...] [...]CH1 - Fenderish clean, CH2 - Marshallish distortion, CH3 - Mesaish or Soldanoish lead Do you know any other amps (2 or 3 channel) that would suit my needs? yeah im just checking all the pedals to check the power. should be enough. i think im sorted! thanks guys This might help you with the math: pedals that work with 1 9VC battery won't push more than 60mA from a power supply. As an example, this means a power supply that delivers 9VC 200mA can easily...

LTD by ESP has a model called Viper which is a Gibson SG look-alike. So I guess that would leave you with Bane. That's a cool name. :)

Only the way Vai uses it, the DS-1 is not creating a wall of distortion....it's putting a slightly boosted sustain coating on his gain channel.
And natural compression too. :)
