unwanted string noise from whammy bar hits

hi, I've got a universe and when I play the vai-esque bar "hit" to play notes i'm getting alot of excess noise from other strings. I'm trying to mute with the left hand, but i keep getting extra noise from the low b at the bridge end. Any ideas how to solve this, or is it just a case of turning the ...
