Re: Composing!!!

Hi, I want to write a song, not a simple GAD song but a real composistion like (but not as good as  ) Steve Vai, Satch: Instrumental Melodic Guitar "stuff" I've tried to do this before, but I never really like the final result, if I just finished my song, I like it very much, after a few days...

My question was whether not having just that one extra coil sitting there in the middle of the guitar would make a big different by pulling just a bit more on that B-string, making it muddy. Thanks, thoug...

Re: Pickup Magnet Pull

. . . specifically on 7-string guitars . . . I've read that a major goal of 7-string pickup manufacturers is to balance output and tone with low pull on the strings, in order to keep that low B ringing out nice and clear. My question: Would an additional single-coil pickup (placed between two humbu...

For close to the price I would've paid for the kit and installation/routing job on my Jem, I just ordered one of these. :) http://jacksonguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=2911003501 I've heard some lack-lustre reports on these Sustainiac equipped axes. One of my local stores that carries Jacks...

Actually I'm more interested in clean tones than ever, and using reverb. And on guitar too, I never tought that some guitars that I loved in the past and his respective tones wasn't what I was looking for. My preference changed a little. But not enough.

My style is pretty much a blend of jazz and blues, plus strange(and sometimes, odd timed) phrases, a lot of string skipping, various types of harmonics, a lot of open string riffs and some other trange things. Actually i'm used to compose pieces that are above my technical level and stuff. I learned...

Actually I'm using a set of D'addario EXL120 strings (009) and they never break, only if I do a 3 1/2 bend on the last fret on my guitar. Plus, string breaking maybe means that yur guitar is not set-up properly on some part. I found myself that my bridge wasn't setup properly, so that was the reason...
