Re: Need help choosing pickups

Yep, it was rubbish advice, F-spaced is what you want for something with a floyd, it is the same spacing at the bridge as fenders, so I can see the confusion. Standard or non-F Spaced is for Gibsons and such, with fixed bridges where the string spacing is narrower at the bridge. For more information...

Re: Edge Pro Problem (Doesn't Pull Up Fully)

I've had a bit of a closer look at it. Pulling up from the open low E I get about 8 semitones of pullup (equivalent in pitch to the 8th fret) The bridge angle seems right to me and the action isn't insanely low, even if I bring it up high enough to see the black rectangle showing where the knife edg...

Edge Pro Problem (Doesn't Pull Up Fully)

Hi there, I'm having a bit of a problem with my Edge Pro trem on my Ibanez RG1570. Pulling up on the arm does make the pitch rise, but the trem hits the sortof wood shelf that it's above, rather than pulling up into the foam lined cavity behind it (where it used to raise to). Raising the action does...

Right, okay, thanks alot for all the help.

The DSL is meant to be very trebbly isn't it?

Looks like I'll have to tweak the EQ to account for that too since my guitar is super piercing (well, the pickups are)

That was my plan, to use the sd-1 overdrive as a boost for the dsl, then getting a heavy distortion pedal to use on the clean channel for metal tones, relying more on the tone of the distortion pedal than that of the amp.

Well, through the sd-1 the behringer at least sings that little bit more, I think i'll try out the md-2 in the store and see how it goes. If it's alright for what I want it for (more of a metal rhythm than anything) then I'll just have that and the sd-1 both hooked up and use them when the time call...

yeah i'm looking at demo videos of the md-2 right now, it seems pretty good, maybe a little fizzy, but i could always use the sd-1 for that.

yeah, i mean, i've got the boss sd-1 which is an overdrive anyway.

I'm looking at the boss ds-1 and ds-2 really, they both seem to give a nice boost without sounding like a jar of wasps.

Looking for a new distortion pedal

Like the title says, I'm looking for a new distortion pedal. I'm changing amps from a behringer 60 watt solid state combo to a Marshall DSL401 all tube 40 watt combo and I've got the feeling the Marshall won't give me quite as much drive as I'm used to with the Behringer. The thing is I'm looking to...

Amp Decision

Whoah it's been a while since I've posted here.. Anyway, I'm looking to get a new amp (all valve) to replace my crappy solid state 60 watt Behringer, which really isn't doing my guitar (RG1570 w/Dimarzio Evo2, Fred, HS3 pickups) any justice. I've basically narrowed my choices down to a Marshall DSL4...

Yeah, I've got an RG1570, one of the older ones in Cosmic Blue (before they brought out those new finishes, and with the chrome logo on the headstock) they're good guitars but you'll problywanto change the pickups, I've only recently changed the middle singlecoil (so now I've got an evo2 in the brid...

Trem problem

Hey everyone, I took my guitar to a local shop to buy an hs-3 for the middle pickup position and that's fine, but for some reason I now get massive fret buzz (they restrang it aswell, but that shouldn't cause that) and for some reason when I pull up on the trem arm (it's an edge pro on an rg1570) th...

well, i'll be off to get one on saturday then, i'm now exciting by the fact my cs-9 could sound even better though.. my brother regrets buying that for me for £20, since it's an 80's one, if he knew how much it was worth at the time he would have sold it.. :P I'll have to shout at the guy that works...
