ik zoek

He hallo

there's a lot of equipment on that page but I think he's using the Bogner Extacy only on that gig. With a little delay of course and a cry baby wah.

sorry guys but I have to say that transistor amps cannot actually rereate a vai-like sound. Vai always got his power tubes burning and most of the time it are EL34's. And about the ultra zone: a lot of songs are legacy in my opinion, except the beautiful solo in I'll be around , typically Bogner.. l...

bad horsie

Hey I also own a bad horsie. When you are using too much preamp gain and the pedal is too close to the amp you may hear that hum. I also have that when i'm playing at home. When I'm on stage and I can use less gain on the amp (cause I play fairly loud then) I hardly have a hum in my sound. But you o...

when evo was used

Here a few songs when the sound of the evo's really come out : Crying Machine , Hand on heart, Warm Regards, Jibboom , Windows to the soul, Building the church.. Go play a jem7 in the store and decide if the evo's are the right pickups for you, cause they're hot and it may not suite your playing sty...

Tubescreamer settings

Steve now also uses a TS9-DX in his rig but does anyone know how he adjusts it? I think mode 2 (turbo) with tone all the way up, drive down and level about halfway.

Which amp (or song) has the best "Vai sound" ?

I think the Bogner Extacy was Steve's best sound. When I listen to the '97 G3 DVD I really really like Steve's sound. Very fluid and not harsh (I hate harsh sounding guitars). I own a Legacy combo (although I'm not playing evo's right now) but I must say that the Legacy isn't the right sound for me ...
