start each day with an easy tune to warm up with.. something with grooveand not so much technique.. it helps to get you fingers flowing.. chromatic excerses, scale warm ups.. take too much time.. and if you so them long enough.. your playing will revolve around those excersizes.. and that is not nec...

every musician picks differently from the next.. Your current way of picking might not have anything to do with your problems with speed.... basically.. the best advise I or anyone else can probably give you is to practice alot.. and start off slow.. it can take years to speed up your chops.. so jus...

uhm.. don't mute the strings when you scream into your pickups... as you well know.. The pickups are reactive to magnetic vibration.. and well.. if you mute the strings.. well.. there's not going to be anything maganetic to vibrate... that's why classic guitars have mic's instead of pickups^^ ... oh...

I see no point in doing mindless excersizes, so do chromatic, until your fingers are used to them, and until you can keep at least 99% of your concentration on your playing.. If your mind starts wandering on anything besides cHromatic excersizing that you are playing in that split second, stop and d...

there is a big difference between playing fast and playing fast while sounding good..

It doesn't matter how fast you can play 16th notes over a metronome, if it sounds like shite, then what's the point in playing it..

well piezo's range around $100 bucks, but with installing and everything it'll prbably cost you anextra $20 bucks... unless you do it yourself.. Ok.. is it easy to switch on and off.. it all depends on how you set it up.. I'd advise a separate toggle for it in a place where you think access is a com...

Never break strings period.. I think the key is, before doing heavy bending and heavy picking.. you need to warm up your strings.. like you do with your hands.. it only makes sence.. You take cold stiff strings and then bend them.. You're bound to break them once in a while.. practice scales and stu...

the key is to not make complicated music... difficulty of playing has little to do with it cause the listening public are not guitar players.. making a song simple, and making a song easy are two different things, and you don't have to sacrifice you abilities on your axe to keep it simple.. Think ab...

I tried to lend a kid a vai cd and he said, "If he was really better than Nirvana, why is Niervana more popular" and I tried to tell him popularity isn't everything but he brushed it off this just goes to show how many shallow minded people are in this world.. music wise.. and not enough people are...
